46 degrees and the bush fires?!?! So sorry to hear. is it mainly SA that's suffering? or are other states affected this badly?

Most SA areas now only on Watch and Act if any fires break out again, although most are out now @jmhaslip. Yep Friday was a real stinker as we say here..lol 46C degrees luckily didnt quite make it..hit approx 44C though and not a good day for bushfires. The day took 2 lives and many homes here in SA.
Yes jm there are still bushfires rampant in NSW north and south of Sydney and in the famous Blue Mountains region of NSW..many homes and property lost and a couple of young firefighters died when a tree came down and the firetruck crashed into it and rolled. Both guys had young families. Very sad day for NSW firefighters. Those guys over there are now being supported by American and Canadian Firefighters. Thanks so much to all you guys for loaning us your men to help, and for the great support this Rumble Club and The Combo Club has shown to us here during a very dangerous and trying time with these killer fires.

US fire crews join marathon fire efforts in NSW

"At least 21 specialist firefighters from the United States have arrived in New South Wales to join marathon efforts to contain bushfires burning across the state. The group will be deployed to various fire locations on Monday and will join firefighters from Canada who have been working around the clock to provide support to Australian crews and volunteers. The US crew will work closely to help contain blazes and back burn in preparation for another dangerous day on Tuesday."

Canadian firefighters volunteer to help battle Australian bushfires over Christmas

"Canadian firefighters will leave freezing conditions in their homeland to help fight bushfires in Australia, giving up Christmas with their families to do so.
Firefighters from provinces across Canada have volunteered to give up Christmas with their families and fly to Australia to help with the bushfire crisis.
The crack team has answered Australia's call for help during what's expected to be a dangerous bushfire season.
Australian officials submitted an official request to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre, based in Winnipeg, on Friday and on the weekend, dozens of experienced firefighters from provinces across Canada volunteered to give up Christmas with their families and fly to Australia."

I just recently found out that I've enjoyed my R500c for about 5½ years, which surprised me. Thought it might be 4 to 4½, it's been so much fun! I've only added my Bassman 115 cab a few times, as the combo alone is usually plenty for my use.

What do you use for an extension cab? I'd think the R500c w/cab would be plenty of stage volume. But, I'd love to see an 800 HD pushing four 410s! Talk about moving some air!!! Would you replace the 500 with the 800 or run both?

Just to play the devil's avocado, how about another R500c w/cab running with your current setup? Could be less expensive and double the love!

I would probably try to replace it and make a super modular rig. Like you said, the head and couple 410s or 115s.

I really wanted to pair the rumble 800 head with an aguilar sl112 cab cos they are lightweight, but have punch and clarity in truck loads. However, I just realised they are rated much less than the head, even running at 8 ohm. Is this too much a problem or should I still consider it as an option, just be cautious? There is the sl115 which is rated a bit higher (from memory) but it costs quite a bit more.

I’m willing to give rumble cabs another chance, but I’ll have to try them out for myself. I deifnaltey want to try a 2x12 rumble if one ever comes out.

I don’t know of any other lightweight cabs that either I like the sound or don’t cost a fortune.

If I recall correctly, the SL112 is rated at 250 watts continuous. Fender recommends that each cab used is rated at 400 watts minimum, so I definitely wouldn’t risk it.

I would recommend you give the Rumble cabs a try, the 210 in particular. If you’re dead set on 112s, your options are more limited, especially at a rating of 400 watts. You might want to take a look at Markbass Traveler 121h cabs which have the required specs. They are a little heavier than the Aguilars, but on the other hand they’re considerably cheaper.

They don't pay enough for the 4 of us, there isn't room for keys, the sax player we sometimes work with wouldn't drive 75 miles for less than $75, which is about how the money would split. In this area, clubs keep lowering their pay and trying to get duos or DJs/Karaoke. Ya gotta love to play 'cos ya damn sure can't make a living at it.
The crowd there loves us, but the gig is 7-11 and the older crowd goes home by 10ish. They don't have a "younger" crowd('service'* club)and they aren't gonna get one.

* in this case, American Legion. We also play a coupla VFWs, Elks, Moose, Knights of Columbus, etc. These places aren't getting new members. Also some country clubs and restaurant/lounges. We are not loud-which many of the patrons really appreciate. They wanna be able to talk to each other[I'm not sure why]w/o screaming.

Congrats on the Rumble 200..heaps of guys here have them, so lots of help from the club if you need it. If you want a club number the Club Secretary will be in soon so just ask for a number now if you want membership. Watch out for G-Dog...he doesnt bite...much loll
