I recently won a radio contest through iHeart radio which paid for this Rumble 800 and 4x10 cab. I played through this amp yesterday for the second time on a 7 hour practice session with the surf band. Man, the more I play through it, the more I'm in love with it.

That's awesome! Perfect time of year, too! And you got cash!

In the early '80s, I worked with a guy who won a week straight on Wheel Of Fortune. And went bankrupt because of it. Back then, you weren't given the option to take the cash value of the prize. You won a "$2000" Velvis, you got the velvet Elvis...and a bill from the IRS on the $2000 of income. With all of the "great" prizes he won, he owed the IRS over $40,000. And we weren't paying him more than $10/hour.

It took a few incidents like that to force federal politicians to legally require the "cash instead" option.

Via taxes, they wanted their pound of flesh, too!

Flippin' Fender Fantasy! That Rumble rig is a wonderful Christmas pres..., uh, prize! Man! Ya know, that's gonna make your R100 feel neglected, that is, at least until you grab the lightweight combo for a quick-trip low volume event. Dude! Otherwise, choosing which one of those to use is one seriously awesome "problem" to have. Congratulations!

And just how long have you had the Elite PJ, with the showroom stickers still on it? "Not that there's anything wrong with that." You said you'd had it several months when you joined us here back in September. No, seriously, I am SO jelly of that pic with the new R800 HD, new R410 and new looking AmElite PJ! Congratulations, again, sir.

A little update on my latest acquisition: I took the new R100 on the American Legion gig Saturday night. This is[was*]the one room I sometimes took the R200c/R112 rig. I put the 100 on top of the 200c and daisy chained them(100 send to 200c return)and played through them a little to see what it would sound like someplace other than my house. I then unplugged the end at the 200c and played the first, sorta quiet set with just the 100. It sounded great-and I never plugged the 200c back in. Huzzah! for being able to go lighter.

*this was apparently our last appearance there-the new guy booking entertainment wants to try "something different". Read:cheaper. Prolly DJs or karaoke.

I had told my wife my R 100 wasn’t going to cut it when we switch to acoustic drums in in our group. She sort of flipped out when I told her what I was planning on buying sometime next year in 2020 after working some side jobs as my day job is for mortgage payment only. She says to me, you better start selling some of your stuff, no way, I love my stuff. I had been playing the iHeart radio game for over a year and a half when I got that call not a week after the conversation with my wife. Sometimes the music Gods do listen. And of course , I broke my wife off a little fore Xmas gifts too.

it’s almost been a year since I bought my pj, I also left the plastic tone descriptor on cause I forget which knob is what. ... ...

I hear ya, there, man. I had to keep the plastic control knob label thingy handy with my P-bass Special for quite a while, too. Looks like the same controls. I love my active basses, but they have radically different controls, the Pb Special and CIJ Jaguar. So, I keep photos of the controls labels on my phone!

I got some time to play around with my Rumble 40 XLR out. I didn't realise that it was after the master. Given that it was late at night I plugged an 1/8" cable into the headphone jack and it was muted.

I ran it into Ableton via a Zoom UAC-2, and then put it through Torpedo Wall of Sound for good measure. Without it sounded pretty good already but I was able to add a bit of air (with 8x10 cab sim) and tweak EQ a bit. I was really impressed with the sound... but the playing not so much.

I still haven't played my pedalboard through the amp. I'm sure it'll sound even better.

Liking the "aux" and "Headphones" options, for sure.

Unfortunately the 25 has a sound when I raise the treble control. The feedback, or whatever,
largely goes away when I firmly touch the strings or the bridge.

Happens with both a jazz and a P-bass.
Tried a couple different cables, too.

Any suggestions welcome!

Yeah, D, the post-Master Volume effect is the "works just like micing the cab" feature of the non-modeling Rumbles. But, it's not as pronounced as some people make out, then they miss out on a great amp. See the Rumble XLR Out Volume Levels section of the Rumble Wiki page for more info. Your first hand observations would be appreciated.

Yo, reddy! Show us a pic of yer Rumbles and git a Club number. I'm always happy to add another dog to the pack!

What you describe on your 25 sounds like a ground disparity, since it goes away with a touch. "Might" be easily fixed by most shops. 'Course I always recommend an Authorized Fender Service Center, especially if it may still be under warranty! If you just got it new it's got a 2-year non-transferable warranty. If you got it used it may still be under the old 5-year transferable warranty; you just need to get the original receipt from the previous owner. (If he bought it online they can probably print a usable receipt.)
