Fender Rumble Club

DS, the extension does indeed increase the volume output of the Stage 800... massively so. Additionally, the fullness of the sound is also bolstered significantly. When I first tested my extension cab, I was truly astounded by the difference. I left a post here regarding the experience studded with "Wow!"'s.

Regarding the increase in fullness: This past weekend's gig was the first time my wife heard the new cab. She's not a musician, nor a fan of loud music; but, even she said, "I love the way your bass sounds with that new cabinet." She's not a sound engineer, but she is a straight-shooter, and not one to give undeserved compliments. So, that's about the best review I could get.

Regarding the 1:1 ratio: I haven't measured it scientifically, but it seems to me that the volume increase is greater than 1:1. I can't say it's synergistic, but it seems to me it is.

I guess you can tell I am really happy with the "full stack", and heartily endorse its addition.

+1 It is a very significant increase in volume, and very noticeable. The tone may change a bit, too, depending on how you stack/place them. I prefer the vertical stack, and this also gets the drivers up closer to ear level, which also helps. For my gigging needs, the Stage 800 by itself is enough for some, but not all gigs, whereas with the extension cab, that rig can handle any gig/venue I play.

So I've searched but wasnt able to find anything definitive...I have a line on a Rumble V3 210 cab (absent factory speakers) for cheap. I've seen the discussions around replacement neo speakers for the 12" Rumble combo and cab, but nothing about replacing the 10" factory ceramic speakers with neo's. Any thoughts on appropriate 10" neo's for the V3 cab?

Here's a video of Shooter Jennings with his bass player using a Rumble. May need headphones. I didn't record many other songs, because I didn't want to be that guy.

Hey all

I know there’s been a few videos of members and their rumble rigs floating around the thread. If anyone has some more videos of their rumbles in action at a gig, I’d love to see. I’ve never seen any live performances with a bass player using rumbles, they have always been other amps, so I’m interested to see how they sound on a proper gig. I’ve only done small gigs with my 100c so I’m interested to see some of the bigger amps (200,500,800) and how they go in a bigger band setting.

Thanks.

Attention: Rumble Club Wiki Edit Alert!

Thanks, @Dookieshoes. Your explanation of How to Load Mustang GT Presets on a Rumble Stage or Studio has been linked on the Rumble Club Wiki page in the TONE App Support section. That's a very interesting idea for Stage & Studio owners.

Thank you, Dookie, for your valuable contribution.

And also, yeah, the 350w /700w rating of a cabinet designed for an amp that's advertised as 400/800w sounds silly... It doesn't inspire confidence in the purchase is all.
Your ears/band mates with give out before the combo does. You might get it to 300W output on an outdoor stage but prepare for stink eye!
Only using a Rumble 800 HD, in this video, with a Berg cab. Not a great performance but it was the first time we had tried this song. Filmed by me with a GoPro max.

Great tone!

Thanks. i was surprised that the cheapest of all my gigging heads is the one i like the best. It just seems to work without all the extra bells and whistles the others have. I dont use the Bright or Contour much, but i do love using the Vintage button a lot. I wish that was on a footswitch.

What other heads do you use?

I currently own, and have gigged a GK MB800, MarkBass F1, and had a GK Legacy 800 for a few weeks. I had a Quilter BB800 for a few gigs at the end of last year as well, and earlier last year i had a TCE BH800. I also have a GK MB200 but i dont consider that for gigs. Out of all of them them its the Fender that is now doing it for me. I wouldn't say its the most inspiring head, its quite warm and id say does lack character compared to the GK heads, but its the one that give me consistently less to worry about at gigs.
It just sits there with most of the knobs at 12 o'clock and gets me heard. I like the tone so much ive stopped using my Helix(s). Just bass, amp cab. I do have a small compressor coming as i do feel the upper notes need a bit more punch to them sometimes, but thats probably something i wont use a lot.

As do a coupla other Rumblers, I usually run my tones at 10, 2, 2, 10. I often use the 'bright' button-depending on the room-for a little extra punch/clarity.

Just an observation: it's nice to have 200/300/500/800W capability, but how often are any of us gonna 'dime' it?
Obviously it's nice to have the headroom, but I wonder how many of us have ever put max continuous into our speakers.

Hello Rumblers, i’ve been trying to search out this question but have not seem to find anything. I typically take my 800 head and 4X10 cab to my practice session where we plug My line out to the drummers studio interface and set up. I will typically control my volume to my cabinet and the line out goes to a separate set of studio speakers he controls which also allows us to record. I was considering leaving my cabinet at home today and just bringing the 800 head. Are there any bits of information I would need to know if I am simply plugging in my line out only with no cabinet. In an attempt to not have to haul around my cabinet today. Thanks for the information.

Nope. SS amps don't require a speaker load like most tube amps. What it will be is your head will be a really great DI.
