Fender Rumble Club

I see
That's the feedback I'm looking for.

I have a fender bassman 100 head and am currently trying out an ampeg pf-115he.
Thinking of returning it and trying the new rumble 112 or 115.

I think I do hear what you're saying about the high mids.
Fender's Bassman Pro 115 Neo cabinet is legendary for great tone. A bit pricey compared to Rumbles, but absolutely killer just the same.

Ampeg makes some awesome stuff. I have a couple of Ampeg amps and a couple of cabs that I love, and I've played a lot of amps that sound awesome through various Ampeg cabs I've owned. Fender amps are not among those. The Fender and Ampeg voicing are very different, and I have never had luck mixing the two. By most accounts I've read the PF-115 is a great cab, but it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't pair as well with your Bassman.

Look what followed me home:

Of all people, my guitarist has an SVT-4 with an HF410, which we occasionally use as backline on multi-band gigs. Not your usual Ampeg, but it has "the sound" nonetheless. Uber upper-bass and stage-shaking subharmonic. I've owned two SVT cabs and played through countess Ampeg amps of various model and vintage in my career. They are punchy when set up right. However, they are also everything Linnen said - loose low end, and the high mids need to be controlled, sometimes hard to do. I like the subharmonic Ampegs generate. You need a roadie to haul them. And they are overrated, especially the B-15. God, I hate that amp.

Having said that, my 500 Combo is punchier, lighter (ever move an Ampeg? Even the Class D amps are relatively heavy), and I think louder.

This thread is where I first heard about the v3 Rumbles! I pre-ordered a v3 40 from sweetwater last year... way back when they were $179.99. anyway. i just signed up for TB and want to say hi to a club I've been lurking in for some time! lol.
Well guess what, Dash Lashes? Welcome to the Fender Rumble Club! :woot: You are member #358 :hyper:

:D Rumbles Rule! :roflmao:

You and me both my brother! I almost bought a B-15 for my first amp in 1970, so glad I bought a used Kustom 200 instead! :roflmao:
Kustom with a P-Bass had a cool sound. But think of the money you'd get for the B-15 today. Especially if someone famous had ever even just glanced at it. (I'm more than happy to part a fool from his money, this being said about the vintage instrument market.)

Just saw your locale... Take that 40 and a guitar playing friend to the Riverwalk, find someplace to plug it in, jam away with your case open and wait for the tips to come in! I LOVE buskers at the Riverwalk! Last time we were there we saw some young guys doing an accoustic / percussion / vocal thing that was just infectious on one side by Mission San Antonio De Valero and then an older duo of gentlemen doing an electric jazz thing a couple of blocks over...

Wish Houston had more opportunity for that... Busking is something that really brings out the local flavors in a city...

I did it a lot in So. Cal, where I grew up. Me and tThe guy I learned to play guitar with used to go down to the beach, Huntington or Newport, and walk around or just pick a spot.

I've been in S.A. for 20 yrs now and it wasn't until the past 2-3 yrs that I even knew anyone else that played guitar. In fact, I practically stopped playing for a good 10 yrs.

I'll have to talk with others in our group about maybe doing some Riverwalk busking.

So I was jamming with my band last night and I tried tilting my amp back and it sounded way better to me and the rest of the band, do you guys know of any tilt stands that work with the Rumble 500? I know someone here had put tilt stands into their amp but I'd rather not drill it
I use black soft wedge called amp wedge I believe. Works great. Not too bad to lug due its size and weight

My cable from Musiciansfriend arrived today. I am glad I made the effort to go to guitar center yesterday... The Musicians Gear 1/4 to Speakon cable is without a doubt a total pile of steaming... well, you get the idea...
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Whenever you cheap anything out in your signal chain, you degrade your signal. When you degrade your signal, you degrade your sound. We are musicians, and as such we are sonic artists. Don't degrade your art. But as Frank Zappa used to say "If we can't be good, we might as well be cheap".
