A myth in my humble opinion. I've had lot's of success in the past mixing brands/speakers. Just be sure combined ohms can be handled by the amp and speakers are rated for wattage they'll receive.

As a side note.... I finally found a Rumble 112 cab in mint condition! Pulled the trigger today - gonna be nice sitting under my 500c! Of course the obligatory pics will be posted upon receipt of the cab!

I as well, am looking for a rumble 112 ext cab.

Thoughts for best settings for a ‘78 Gibson RD Standard w/ TI flats (through-body) on a Rumble 200 or 500. The RD Standard is a passive bass, with two humbuckers, and is without the wonky Moog wizardry. Im a finger player (no pick) and we play rock / pop punk genre.
I just got the RD yesterday, and so far have it set at:
-Vintage voicing
-OD off (on for a heavier tune or two)
-Bass: 10:00
-Low-mid: 1:00
-High-mid: 2:00
-Treble: 10:00

I prefer to turn the horn off on my 500 combo - just prefer the tone that way. And it cuts through just fine on the metal stuff I play with bandmates!

My stuff got here today! I know it doesn't really have much to do with rumbles but... well. I got some new DR black beauty strings on Isabelle and some other stuff and I thought to myself "Wow the sound is so crisp and full of growl and snap coming through my tiny and humble rumble!

Fly, your 10, 1, 2, 10 settings are very close to the flat settings on most Rumbles, usually a good starting point to then "tweak for the room". Did you take a look at the Rumble Club TONE POOL I recommended to you last week? Even if you did, it may be worth another look. A couple days ago I found someone had, accidentally, I'm sure, deleted several previous settings from the list. I have since restored them.

I've used my Rumble 500 combo by itself for medium, large and outdoor venues. With my Bassman 115 Neo cab it's usually overkill. But, with the 115 extension it should more than enough for anything you wannt to use it for. I changed my strings, set up the action, set up the intonation, new strap with new strap locks and a fret wrap.

Hi—I just posted this a few days ago. The first is a Rumble 115 cab with the Rumble 500c on top. It is more than what I usually need, but fun to have the watts. The second is the 115 cab paired with a Rumble 200 head (easy to find cheap). This is adequate for most situations. Very good value. Good luck!!

I'm sure the 115 would sound awesome with the 500c, but being somewhat OCD, I can't get past the lack of symmetry So I'd opt for the 210 or 112 (if you can find one) But to each his own and some enjoy the pyramid look

OCD? 500c on it's side, 115 on bottom (grille and logo change on the 500c, if OCD strikes again).

Hello All. I have a non-sound Rumble 40 v3 question.

I have been using my R40 as a power and speaker components of a hacked boombox using output of my "smart" phone into the Aux input while painting the railing of my 3/4 wrap-around porch (2 day job PER COAT). Works well! Impressive sound for a 1x10 no tweeter system and made the task almost enjoyable (it would have been enjoyable if the highs were not triple-digits F every day of the job).

The issue is that I discovered that a few small dots of white latex paint wound up on the top of the amp. Unfortunately the dots were dry before I discovered them. Does anybody know of a way to get this paint off without damaging the original black covering? Thanks!
