Fender Rumble Club

Seriously. You don't have to use the amp as a coaster for it to be a concern, and 99.9% of the time it's not my drink I'm worried about.

I still don't understand why no one makes a sneeze guard type attachment for pedalboards, but that's for another forum.
Honestly if I caught somebody putting a drink on my amp I would be prone to beating them with a mic stand...

here's what i ended up with:

Your settings look almost identical to mine aside from master volume level (decibel meters are a buzz killer ! ) and I normally have the contour button on. My master sits around 1-2 o'clock and thats plenty enough to hear myself and compete with drums/guitar.
Another point is as much as I was really looking forward to adding the 2x10 extension cab I don't think I will bother now. The combo really does deliver the goods in 99% of the venues we play using our own foh. I have the combo dialled in rather nicely and downsizing was my main factor getting the combo. As nice as the new 2x10 cabs are I really can't justify getting one.

Rumble 200 on the way! Just ordered, as I discovered that Link Removed extended their Presidents Day sale through tonight at midnight and didn't exclude the Rumble! Got it 20% off. PRES20 is the code, right there on the homepage. I have no affiliation, just really pleased and excited about the amp!

jumblemind and I are of the same... mind. I've been rolling ideas around in my head about how to make a sneeze guard. You know, even a vinyl cover does not protect those knobs, as they are situated right on the corner of the amp.

as for drinks - doesn't have to be my drink that takes out the amp. How about the clumsy broad who was requesting a song and oops! sorry!!

You'd hit a girl? ;) How about the father of the bride that just paid your mortgage? The grandmother? I hear what you're saying, it's just one of the hazards of my particular situation. Even my guitar player and friend of 15+ years. Just not going to beat him with a stick repeatedly, he's not going to listen at this point.

Obviously the answer is no. And I was being quite facetious about my reply there. Sorry anyone that knows me knows I am gentle as can be unless you threaten my family and then what happens is entirely your fault... However you bring up an interesting point that goes well beyond just the Rumbles, and I would like to get this one knocked about here. I will start another thread on this and see where it goes...

If you are interested in following / participating look for a thread called "Backline security".

Back in the day when PA systems were very large and gigantic horns were separate entities, as we were packing up one of the JBL horns was sitting on its back, the facing "lips" were upward. Someone poured a drink into it, what looked to be a white Russian. Several hundred dollars later for a new driver... People are just damned fools.

Yeah, you really got me thinking about backline security though. I made the assumption that access would be limited strictly to the band, and crew. I forget a lot of bands don't have friends / paid crew that work backline security for them during the show... That could be a real problem...

Which veers back into the whole head / vs combo because of spillage thing. It seems at least to me, just as easy to get liquids into a head as it does a combo... It's best to do your best to keep those liquids far, far away from your amp no matter if it is a combo or a head / cab. They are no good for anything electronically speaking, and the risks are too great to ending a show prematurely and causing considerable costs in damages to yours or other people's equipment. Respect the tools of the trade, treat them well and they will treat you well...

I have to agree with Linnin, the only reason I would go with the head/enclosure is if you didn't care for the 10 inch speakers. I've lugged around Marshal stacks, heavy Peavy combos and more. These new Rumbles are so light, for me the combo is a no brainer. Personnaly, 10 inch speakers are my favorite. With that said, my Rumble 200 has one 15 and I am loving it.

The underlying rule here is that people have the brains of a potato.
Backline security is fine if you're doing a festival or something, but most of us are doing bars, etc. drunken people wandering around, coming up onstage, occasionally taking the mic, setting a drink down on your amp so they can get out their wallet to show you a picture of their guitar, or god forbid, weddings - where everyone is drunk and the wedding party thinks they own your equipment because they paid you. And then there are dock parties, where people moor their boats right behind you and get onto the deck right onstage with you (yes, it's happened).
Again, people have the brains of a potato. we must be on guard.

The V3 Rumble 25 is the very best $100 (USD) bass combo ever! I run mine at with the Volume & Bass at 1 o'clock. Any more than this is too much. I pull the Mids & Treble down equally to 9 o'clock. The 8" Fender Special Design woofer is excellent, but it is very mid forward with tons of highs as those are the frequencies it most easily reproduces. Enjoy! :bassist:

 Rumble On!

Yes the scoop is -10dB cut at the very same 630Hz that the Midrange controls. I don't use the overdrive as I think it's too much since it is all or nothing. That doesn't mean it can't be fun. I leave my Rumble 25 at my guitarist's house to use to work out new tunes together and it's perfect for that. Sounds great plus it's small and light and stores away easily. And cute! Did I mention cute? Yes, very cute.
