Pretty minimal audience last night-and prolly tonight. Everyone enjoying leftovers and visiting with family, I guess. Snowbirds should be descending upon us soon.:help:

Well, I was wrong(it's happened once or twice b4). Packed house. Dunno if it was us or the fact it was steak night (no, we didn't get any). Prolly the latter. A lot o' them stayed though.

It was actually a Christmas gift from my parents. I think I was probably asking for something a bit smaller and was blown away and overjoyed to receive this. I recall thinking the red pulsing light was pretty darn cool. I was a big Kiss fan back then so certainly partial to flashy effects haha.

The lack of definition from the UB playing the bass line-I think(?)-could be improved on with an EB-0(or equivalent*)through a Rumble.

*is there an equivalent?:smug: (notice I refrained from saying "THUNDERBIRD)

Has anyone posted their favorite Rumble overdrive settings? EQ, drive; the whole shabang. Shebang? You know what I mean.

I'm a believer that what sounds good in the practice space is a far cry from what dirt sounds like with a band.

So keeping the rig simple with no pedals, what are your favorite overdriven sounds?

I have a 800 combo, not stage btw.

I, like quite a few others here, leave the OD controls at minimum and use the switch as a mute switch. I learned it from @GonePlaid .

I tend to run the Gain control at 2-3 oclock. If I dig in with my Thunderbirds, I get a little bit of overdriven sound, and I like it. The other controls work reasonably well for my practice room and sound good in the small venue we usually play in, as well as outdoors (with more volume, of course).

Heyo! I picked up a Rumble 800 combo over the weekend for a mere $679 new (plus a $50 gift card, so really for $629). I played the 500 v3 in a rehearsal space a few weeks back and could not believe how good it made my bass (and me) sound.

I have been playing bass for about six months (I came over from guitar, which I liked well enough, but bass always interested me more, plus some friends needed a bass player, so...). The Rumble blows the doors off the anemic 150 watt Ampeg that has not been enough for a loud drummer and two guitarists. Can't wait to try it out with them this week.

My daily driver is a Sandberg Electra VS 4 but I also play a Mustang PJ (which I have heavily customized) and a pliers-and-wood-filler fretless Stingray Sterling SUB from the 2010s (with an upgraded Nordstrand pickup that is just monstrous) that I got off of Reverb for a song.

I like the Ampeg sound so I'm still using my SGT-DI pedal. It goes nicely with the Rumble so far. I do wonder if anyone ever velcros these preamps to the top of their amps to save the constant bending down and fiddling? It would also free up some slots on my diminutive pedalboard.

Well, RL, you know what they say about the fullness of 15" drivers! If one is good, then two is better! Your Stage can drive 'em both!, just think of the richness you could get from 2x10" and 2x15"!!! :woot:
