Fender Rumble Club

Maarti, do you just connect the Studio to the GR 500 for bedroom levels? Remember, it was determined that the Stage & Studio FX Send levels don't get very loud with Rumble FX Returns, so they need to go into Rumble Inputs instead. I assumed the same to be true with other brand's FX Return. Or are you able to get loud Studio tones out of your GR that way? :jawdrop:
.
Darn you, I say, darn you! I haven't checked that because I rent an apartment in a résidence (like an NYC coop) and really don't want to p' off my neighbors (good peeps, all!) and get tossed out, but I'll have to give it a "quick" go at some point. But...don't hold your breath.

I bookmarked your post so I don't forget.

So, I've been gigging with some guys for about 6 months. This last weekend I used a long cord for sound check to listen to my tone from about 25ft away from the band. (small venue) Long story short, my tone (with the band playing whilst standing out front) did not sound good, boomy/undefined. It did sound good when I took the low and mid-low to completely DOWN and the mid-high and high almost dimed. Prior to this, our guitar player just advised (from out front) where my tone was at and it was never this bad....I'm so freaked at how radical a change this was that I want to get a pair of those cheapie wireless thingies to go out and check my tone myself. So, finally the question is...has anyone ever been in a room where such radical EQ-ing was necessary to sound decent? EDIT...I use 2 100's daisied.
Yep, couple weeks ago. I had the bass completely turned down to make it work. Old cellar:

while setting up.

Yes, I recall your low volume living situation, LeMaar. And maybe the low volume of the Studio FX Send to GR FX Return, if it too is limited, is just what you need there.

Bookmarks are helpful. But also remember your Rumble Club Wiki page (you've got it bookmarked, right?), in the Connecting Combos Together section:

Just remember to please let us know your findings. OK? As always, nosy enquiring minds want to know. ;)

I was thinking about this a few minutes ago. One thing I want to check if is the Pre/Post setting for the DI makes any difference. I don't have the schematic in front of me at the moment, but I want to check it (play with it :bassist:) anyway. And, yes, I have the Wiki bookmarked, but not also the "Connecting combos" section. Bookmarked!

Body is low trunk heartwood ash I milled from trees taken down at my house, which was built by my grandfather. Added Birdseye maple veneer to an Amazon neck. Finally got the nut, action, and intonation set. It's cool feeling the low E vibration even unplugged.
I know 40 watts isn't much in the bass world for performing, but it definitely works in a bedroom with hardwood floors!
Thanks for the info. Sounds like a great bass!

I use my Rumble 40 at retiree places all the time, and it's plenty. For a trio, with piano, bass and drums. Your band is probably louder than mine.
Not really. Guitar, drums, and me. Drummer never plays too loud(yay!); guitarist knows how to turn down.

A. I can't imagine why the Pre/Post settings for the XLR Outs would affect the FX Loops? And I've never heard of a use for a Pre-EQ signal from the FX Send, when you could just plug your bass directly into the pedal(s), or whatever, and that output into the FX Return for the same effect.

2. Where did you get a schematic of the Stage or Studio amp(s)?!? I'd really love to see that!!! Please, please, please share! :woot:

iii. Fortunately, your Rumble Club Wiki page comes with a Table of Contents linking the various sections and some sub-sections. So, no need to bookmark them.

I didn't say that I "had" the schematics, only that I didn't have them in front of me, assuming that they existed somewhere. I get the feeling from your statement that they are NOT currently available for inclusion in the Wiki. Too bad.

I mentioned the Pre and Post because I want to exercise every possible switch/feature to fulfil my old engineering curiosity. They "shouldn't" have any impact, but...
