Fender Rumble Club

On a side note, I’m curious about the factory cover for the Rumble 500. It appears to be just a slip cover, not padded. Does it have a pouch to hold the power cord? This is a real bugaboo of mine about amps, whether heads or combos. No place to stash the cord means it’s gonna get lost at some point.

I remember my GK MB115 slip cover had no pouch which drove me crazy. I had to make sure I had a cord in my bass’ gig bag before heading out the door and them remembering to stash it back in the bag when loading out. The slip cover for my Acoustic Image combos has such a pouch.

I remember doing a gig with the first gen JBL Eon powered PA speakers and the owner/drummer forgot to bring the power cords for both the speakers and the mixing board. It was too late so all the local Radio Shack, Staples and Best Buy stores were closed and we ended up plugging vocal mikes into the guitar amps :banghead: Luckily most Fender amps have two preamp channels…

P.S. *** is going on with the quoting all of a sudden?
I spent a couple of hours researching covers. I wanted quality, padding, and pockets. They cost a little more but were worth it.

Sorry if I missed it--what's the diameter on the Bergs?

1-12”

I have two of the early ones with the chrome grilles, HT112. Bought one used for $445 in 2002 and a year later a second one for $400. My primary gigging cabs for 22 years now. Just shy of 40 pounds.

They’re not crazy heavy but a Rumble 500 feels a lot lighter even if the specs claim it’s only 4 pounds lighter.

Bri, did you get the Rumble 500 combo, or still shopping. I'd love to give you a Club membership if you have re-qualified.

No, the 7ender amp covers don't have pouches, pockets or padding. For usually just around $20 they're just basic, but fairly resilient, covers. The various customizations is where the cover specialists, like MDB, LeCover & Tuki shine (for a price).

Personally, I prefer keeping a few different lengths of power cords in my gig bag, just like instrument cables and, occasionally, speaker cables. I find full pockets on amp covers to be something to have to work around, or avoid, when packing up. YMMV.

P.S. Yeah, what up wit yer quotes? Haven't seen it anywhere else. :eyebrow:

I dunno, bri, but looks like your device, or browser, or something, is not up quoting other posts correctly. Your completed posts shouldn't show the HTML "quote tags"

You quoted my post and edited it down to a single paragraph (from many), but it shows in your completed post with HTML "quote tags" (which it shouldn't):

Screenshot_20240320-183950.png

But, I don't see where you edited SharpCat's post, and it still did the same thing:

Screenshot_20240320-174654.png

Then, when someone else just hits "Reply" on your unusually quoted post, they see in the post editing box (and can edit) the post you quoted embedded within your (also quoted) post, instead of before or after it, where it should be!

Screenshot_20240320-182245.png

Then, when finally posted, that quoted post gets included within your post as your quote (which it is not!) and your (unusually) quoted post doesn't appear to be quoted at all, but looks like part of the new poster's message!!!

Clear as mud? Yeah, for me too! I think I'm gonna send a link to this message to the TB admins to see if they can solve your problem.

Still shopping! No amp is perfect and it’s always fun trying to balance out the pros and cons. :help:

Just looked at a GR Bass combo tonight, only $1000 more than the Rumble :greedy: It comes with a very nice padded cover…but still no pouch :roflmao:

P.S. Yeah, what up wit yer quotes? Haven't seen it anywhere else. :eyebrow:

Yeah, it’s just normal HTML syntax. If I remove the member information it looks normal, but what good is that? Seems to be back to normal with this post, though.

In answer to your previous post, I highly recommend-to everyone-picking up a few of these. Plug in to any 3 conductor extension cord.

Ooo, yeah, the GR's do look sweet, fer sure! But that extra $1000 is a real deal breaker for me!!

We-ee-ell, it looked like normal HTML syntax in the editing box, except for some odd placements, but it sure wasn't normal once posted and still showing the tags! In one of my many experiments quoting one of your quoted posts, if I retyped the quote within your quote from scratch into the right location, and deleted the weird one from the wrong location, everything posted normally. So, something was putting an invisible curse on the auto-generated quote within a quote! I did send a link to my explanatory post above to the TB admins. Maybe they fixed it for you!

Quick question to the hivemind. For my amusement, I was running a pair of 800 combos (no STAGE, just plain jane combos) and linked the EFFECTS SEND to EFFECTS RETURN with the understanding that the main combo would control itself AND the power amp and speakers of the secondary combo. However, i noticed that with the gain and master at zero on the main combo, the secondary still produced sound.

Am I missing something? I thought that it'd be one combo to rule them both, but that's definitely not how it worked.

All that aside, it sounded GREAT!

And, before I sold it, I tried this with three of the 800C with one extension and that was just ludicrous. I ran EFFECTS SEND to splitter to EFFECTS RETURNS (not chained) then a single out to an old Fender 410 cab my buddy had for a 1200 10x10. You know, for science and stuff.

Yes, sir, YOU SHALL NOT PASS! You're missing that the R800c has its Master control located downstream of the FX Loop (& the XLR Out, by popular demand), unlike the R100, R200c & R500c. That means, when connected Send to Return, each R800c Master still controls it's own volume! And the Send level is unaffected by the Master setting. Refer to the respective block diagrams.

:woot: You had me at "running a pair of 800 combos"!! Ouch-a, mag-ouch-a! But THREE RUMBLE 800 combos!?!? Ludicrous? That's downright Plaid! ;) Fugeddaboudit! I love science and junk. But then there's math and, ... uh, ... if one of 'em had the 410 cab connected, that's 800w right there. Plus the other two, without cabs I guess, are 400w each, right? That's (8 & 4, carry the 1 ..., & 4 more) a total of 1600w!! Thru 10x10"!! Holy guacamole, Blapman! :dead: Get ready to blast off!

I forgot that the routing changed for the 800. I still plan to use a pair at a few larger outdoor gigs we have, I'll just have to micromanage my volume a bit. This should be fun!
