Our band has been told we should 'move' more. OK, that's great-but the mics/stands don't move, so...The animatronic Showbiz Pizza band moved more than the guitarists!

10,000 cycles of stirring with that spoon would be a great daily goal..My doctor tells me I should move more!Well, I made our breakfast and my "coffée au lait" this morning, and gave Mrs. Dog a break. Forgot about my vintage collectible TalkBass mug I ordered (on clearance?) so long ago. After this I'll need a good rest.

I played a Good Friday service last night with people I’d never met in a place I’d never played. My daisy chained pair of R100s sounded far too bassy at first, but I waited to talk to the sound tech. She knew exactly which frequencies needed to cut and why. Later I realized the Vintage button had accidentally been pressed, but we already had it sounding good so I left it alone. Probably the best sound tech I’ve worked with. Line out into the PA, so I had the volume set for the level she wanted. That meant I only needed a tiny bit of monitor. I walked out front playing during rehearsal and the sound was excellent. Several people told me later they could hear the bass and it sounded great. Huzzah for Rumbles and great sound techs!
Greco Thunderbird -> pedalboard -> 2xR100 -> PA + monitors
I took my Rumble 100 to concert band practice last night...I'll have to see just how "bad" a piano would sound going through it because I'd be much happier taking the rumble every week.
Yeah , we did the same thing at rehearsal the other night at my house. Saved the piano player bringing an amp.Update, for what it's worth to anyone: the piano sounds great through the R100! My p bass already sounds perfect through it for blending with the rest of the band, and the piano still stands out as much as it needs to!
The digital piano I use is a Yamaha P-125, and I just take the instrument cable from my bass and plug it into the L+R out on the keyboard. I don't even change any EQ settings from when I play bass (lows 8:00, low mids 10:00, high mids 14:00, highs 11:00) - nice and easy.
That was another reason I loved my '64 Fender Bassman. '63 Jazz plugged into the Bass Instrument channel and Farfisa Mini plugging into the Normal channel.Yeah , we did the same thing at rehearsal the other night at my house. Saved the piano player bringing an amp.
Pre-grunge by a few years, and you probably won’t have heard of any of these bands unless you lived in Seattle at the time - maybe the Fastbacks and 10 Minute Warning if you’re a Duff McKagan fan. $5 covered all three venues which were Pioneer Square-adjacent, the closest was Metropolis on 2nd, Graven Image was two blocks east. I snagged this 2’x3’ poster towards the end of the night as we were packing up. Keep meaning to get it framed…I love me some Soundgarden and Nirvana. I was in Seattle on business when Kurt Cobain left the building to join Elvis in a celestial jam session. I went up to Volunteer Park the next night and joined the crowd in tribute, listening to an FM station's mobile van blasting Nirvana. So sad.
But that was a glorious period for the Seattle music scene. At that time, you could pay $3 extra ($10 vs $7) for a multi-club cover charge for the clubs in Pioneer Square, so you could check out multiple bands for a reasonable fee. I've heard that is no longer the case. Too bad.
I love odd band names, especially "Bruce Goose" and "FRED The Nurse".Pre-grunge by a few years, and you probably won’t have heard of any of these bands unless you lived in Seattle at the time - maybe the Fastbacks and 10 Minute Warning if you’re a Duff McKagan fan. $5 covered all three venues which were Pioneer Square-adjacent, the closest was Metropolis on 2nd, Graven Image was two blocks east.
