Was going to make a thread about this, but seeing as how there is a Rumble club, seems like you lot would be most knowledgable anyways. I'm looking at downsizing my cab situation, from my current 2x15 Hartke which is huge. About 50" tall, 104 lbs. I've been digging the rumble cabs in terms of price and weight. I've played the 410 at a local shop and really liked what I heard. The 410 comes out at about 64 lbs. I've been eying the 210 as well, which is closer to 34 lbs. but only $50 cheaper. I've been tossing around the idea of getting two cabs, possibly a 210 and the 115. But I've heard mixed reviews on mixed driver cabs. I've never personally owned one.
Would 2 2x10s be a better match than the 210 and 115? If I'm going to get 2 210s anyways, does it seem stupid not to get the 410 instead since its only $50 more than a 210? I feel like downgrading from a 100 lb. cab to a 63 lb. one is not that severe of one, plus the hartke is fairly easy to move due to its caster and built in dolly. I'm not weak by any means, but the whole purpose of downsizing is to make moving equipment and traveling easier, and I've not been a fan of carrying these perfectly square, heavy center of gravity type 410s. Plus I could see scenarios in which I would only want one 2x10 but some where I would ant both. Would the tone of the 2x10 be drastically different form the 4x10?
I had been patiently waiting for the new peavey 1516 to come out, but with memorial day my busy season for shows has kicked off and I struggled through 3 gigs this weekend wrestling my 2x15 around. I'm sure I can't wait around much longer, so I'm looking to make a move on these rumble cabs fairly soon.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
