Fender Rumble Club

Has anyone here had any experience with the rumble 210 cab?
I have a 210v3 sitting behind and above my Rumble 500v3 Combo. I'm very pleased as the addition of the 210 cab has improved not only volume out of the combo, but has enhanced the tone as well, to my ear. I preferred the 210 over the 115 which I tried as well. I did not get to listen to a 112. The 210 offered maximum out put and effientientcy and a joyful sound. All for the same price as the 112/115.

Nice to hear this!! I'm waffling back & forth as to which cab to add to my 500 Combo.....the 210, 112 or 115.....sigh....

Yeah, it's not like we can all just pop in to Sweetwater's new music store (which I think they are boasting as the largest music store in the world), or Larry Hartke's Bass Experience in Sam Ash Manhattan to audition anything and everything to our heart's content. But it would be nice! ;)

That's my problem there aren't any cabinets in my area to try....so have to order on-line without hearing first.

:D:roflmao:

i've said it before; go w/ the 12 under the 500 combo.. you will kill your audience on looks... and everyone's down w/ 12s for all those right reasons! :woot::bassist:

(ymmv because i really like to immagine spending other people's ":greedy:" for them

Was going to make a thread about this, but seeing as how there is a Rumble club, seems like you lot would be most knowledgable anyways. I'm looking at downsizing my cab situation, from my current 2x15 Hartke which is huge. About 50" tall, 104 lbs. I've been digging the rumble cabs in terms of price and weight. I've played the 410 at a local shop and really liked what I heard. The 410 comes out at about 64 lbs. I've been eying the 210 as well, which is closer to 34 lbs. but only $50 cheaper. I've been tossing around the idea of getting two cabs, possibly a 210 and the 115. But I've heard mixed reviews on mixed driver cabs. I've never personally owned one.

Would 2 2x10s be a better match than the 210 and 115? If I'm going to get 2 210s anyways, does it seem stupid not to get the 410 instead since its only $50 more than a 210? I feel like downgrading from a 100 lb. cab to a 63 lb. one is not that severe of one, plus the hartke is fairly easy to move due to its caster and built in dolly. I'm not weak by any means, but the whole purpose of downsizing is to make moving equipment and traveling easier, and I've not been a fan of carrying these perfectly square, heavy center of gravity type 410s. Plus I could see scenarios in which I would only want one 2x10 but some where I would ant both. Would the tone of the 2x10 be drastically different form the 4x10?

I had been patiently waiting for the new peavey 1516 to come out, but with memorial day my busy season for shows has kicked off and I struggled through 3 gigs this weekend wrestling my 2x15 around. I'm sure I can't wait around much longer, so I'm looking to make a move on these rumble cabs fairly soon.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

I play the V3 500 combo paired with a 1x15, it absolutely takes no prisoners. There are a few of us here with that set up. It appears a lot of guys are going with the v3 500 and adding the single 12. Don't be afraid to blend the cabinets. my avatar pic was taken at a benefit, the Markbass is not mine. :)

I used to have a mixed driver rig, Ampeg SVT-3Pro with Ampeg 4x10 over 1x15. I didn't have any problems with it. Currently I am using the Rumble 500w combo (which has 2x10" speakers) and the 210 rumble cab, so I have the vertical 4x10, basically.

It's light weight, very portable, and loud. So very loud. When it's on the Auralex platform, it's about the same height as your setup, but only about 65 lbs total. The setup as you see it here is in my bedroom, which is upstairs, so when I go to rehearsal I need to bring it downstairs, and I have no problems with that. You can't beat the light weight, and I love the tone.

As far as 210 vs 410, I haven't A/B'd the difference in cabs. I would guess the tone would be similar, but the best thing to do is try both, if possible.

Oh my so much Fender...........makes me all Happy!!!

Love it, that 112 is the perfect fit.

Another question for the group. I'm still on the fence about snagging a Rumble cab. I moved a little too slow this week, so I'll have to struggle through another gig this weekend with my monstrous Hartke 2x15. A Mesa Powerhouse 2x10 and 2x12 popped up on the local CL. Seller is asking $300 a piece, I'm sure I could talk him down to $250 per. The Mesas cost double the Rumble cabs new, plus more. But they are super heavy, the 2x10 weights out at 70 lbs. Is the price point too good of a deal to pass up? I'd like to eventually add a second cab to whatever 2x10 I get, but I don't have the spare fun money to get both the 2x10 and 2x12 Mesa on CL. I'm a stickler for matching, so if I got the 2x10 PH I would have to get a matching Mesa Sub to sit below it, and who knows if/when I'll find a good deal on one of those used, and I'm NOT paying $600 for a new 1x15. And that's also a 150 lb. rig, versus the 70 lb. rig that two rumble cabs would make.

If I can get the seller into the $270 range on the Mesa 2x10, that's the about same price I could get a new Rumble 2x10 if I call in to Musiciansfriend and fight for a 20% discount. What would you guys do?

+1 on the 2X12'S. If they had been available i may have bought them with the rumble head vs the 500. I love my 500 combo, but just portabilty and more options on gig rig.
For the small restaurant bars that I play, the Rumble 350 head and 2 x 112 Neos are more than enough. I am never in the PA. I have great tone with excellent dispersion and top shelf sound quality.

Was looking through the Fender Bass Cab owners manual, (not much there BTW) and found it odd that they recommended removing casters so the cab would couple with the floor and extend the cabs response......I just went through hell trying to get a heavy Acoustic combo and extension cab Decoupled from the floor to stifle some boomieness that sounded horrible in our practice space.

It may be possible to improve sound by coupling, but I doubt I'll ever play Carnagie Hall where the stage is designed to be part of the acoustics.

Had I not found the Rumble cabs, in all of their tonal and portable goodness, I would totally jump on the Mesa cabs. However, I am never going back to heavy. After a couple of gigs, you won't either.

Called around to a few of the big box online retailers, got a 210 cab shipping my way from Sweetwater. Paid $314, I should have it by Saturday. Gig Saturday night, so looks like I'll be taking it for a test drive right away. Honestly, I thought I could get away with paying less than $300 for it, but I'm still happy with the decision. I was already going to pay close to $300 for the Mesa cab, plus it was in another city so I was looking at a 4 hour round trip to grab it plus gas.

You have chosen wisely. And that's a pretty sweet deal on a 210! I'd tell you to enjoy it, but you don't have a choice. ;)
