Fender Rumble Club

About the 12's...
I've used a 112 under a 500 combo and it kicks butt. It added a bark and throatiness that have been looking for for some time. That was when I decided to try two 112's with my 500 head. It kicks more butt. For my sound, the 12's just work better. I love a good 15 because of it's upper mid bark. The rumble 112's can have that if you want it. But they also have a lot of low end - so much in fact that, given the power rating, methinks it's possible to get into trouble if you dial in too much bass into the 12. Still, I've used the two 112 rig onstage now and it sounds so good, and is just the perfect size, that's it's my A rig. Honestly, I find it easier to move than the combo too - I'm always worried I'll knock the control panel setting it in the car. And I have indeed spilled water into it.

Either way, combo or 112 cabs, you can't go wrong. They sound different, the 112s maybe a little more open after the bass is backed down. I've had boom from the combo (210's), not from the 112's. The 210 cab sounds to me just like the combo. And for me, a 210 cab with the combo was too much of a good thing - I lost the midrange to the low end of the extra cab. But if you want gigantic low end, a 500 head with two 210 cabs (or 500 combo with one 210) is your huckleberry.

Good luck!
Thanks bdplaid, good info. I'm thinking a 112 cab under my 500 combo might be the trick.

Me too! You could carry around some cables and stomp boxes down below.
This would add significantly to the cost of the amp, of course.

Still, perhaps there would be enough demand to justify making and selling them as after-marker add-ons. To make just one, I can see at least $100 in materials plus 4 hours of labor if you have the skills. If you made good patterns and bought materials in bulk, someone might be able to make a profit by selling them at $100 - $150.

Submit and email that photoshop edit image to fender customer service, more you guys express your need, more chance to make this real.

Forget the image just make the box a reality, but you need to make so it will fit & work with the Rumble Magnetic Attachment System. You could have just designed yourself a real moneymaker, Yahboy!

WoW, a good business head !!
I din't have any knowledge and skill to create a actual object.
Maybe Mr Rick from American Restoration could custom make one.

Just got in on this Rumble party. Arrived today:

The v3 500W head and 112 cabinet. :)

I have to admit those 2x112 stacks look awesome and are very portable. It's a pity I can't cope with the sound of 12 speakers. Glad some of you like them, though. And it's great we can mix and match them the way we like. Something for everybody.

Yes. It is so the signal being sent out to the board is the same as being sent to your speakers. Fender even came up with a bit of magic cabinet emulation circuitry so that your XRL out would sound as close as possible to a well mic'd cab.
I'm a big fan of the post -eq and fader thing. I just used the head in the studio as a DI and the engineer loved it. Imagine my surprise.

Have you heard the Rumble 112s? to my ear, they sound different than other 12s I've used. - fuller, more like 15s but less boomy. not as bassy as MarkBass. I had a GK 212 and hated it - no personality from that cab. The rumble is a completely different animal. I love mine. and it's cute.
