Fender Rumble Club

My 210/800 arrived today. I am very pleased with it. After some slight EQ adjustments it sounds very good indeed and it is remarkably loud. It will get louder than I ever need it to.

I will report back after I have used it on a gig.

Tomorrow I am playing a wedding gig on upright and will use my Rumble 100. It sounds great for the upright but only when tilted back. When it is sitting flat on the floor it sounds too boomy for my taste. I bought a little tilt back stand for it and now it sounds lovely with the upright.

They seem to talk well with one another. Plenty Damn loud. Started to feel the gut punch. Not really sure how far I can push this guy.
There's also a Rumble 500c if I don't take the GK. Must say, I like the clarity of the GK.

Just remember: Rumbles don't EQ like any other amp. At least none I've owned, including my 63 Bassman.

What do you mean by that? This is all new to me.
Check out The Rumble Club Wiki. There's a section on settings for various tones. "Flat" is approximately(clock settings): BASS-10; Lo Mid-2; Hi Mid-2; Treble-10. Tweak to taste. I always use VINTAGE and sometimes BRIGHT, depending on rom boominess. CONTOUR doesn't work for what I wanna hear, but experiment. All at "noon" ain't right. Not for me anyhoo.

Oh right right right. I knew that. I thought he meant something totally different.

... ... ..., I read something that said [the GK] runs at 350w alone and 500w with an 8 ohm cab, sir, which is the same as our standard training and rating Rumble 500 combo here, sir. So, sir, that's just 250w into the cab, and the Rumble 210 cab is known to safely handle 400w, sir. So, sir, this officer candidate firmly believes, sir, that you are A-OK to proceed in your most excellent plan, sir! ... ... ...

I reiterate (and paraphrase), Lt. Dan: The Rumble 210 can take anything your GK can throw at it. (I dunno 'bout the GK.) Push all you want! Your ears may break before the cab!

Hey gents,

I reached out a few days ago asking for help with tone. Y'all pointed me to the wiki and the spreadsheet. I had already looked but really had only done a quick skim. Well, I took your advice and looked again...closer.
Found some nice tone settings and really like where I got with my p bass straight into the amp. I was looking for some aggressive drive tone as I'm working on learning some of Justin Chancellor's lines. I don't need his exact tone but for now I was able to get a good chunk of the way there and now it's on me to actually learn where to put the fingers.

Anyway, came here to say a big THANK YOU!

Speaking of tone through a rumble, curious if any of y’all are using a rumble for playing mostly/a lot of reggae or similar tone? Big, cleanish, articulated notes focusing on the low end frequencies w/ the bass up and treble down.

The wiki tone settings are pretty good. it seems like the best reggae sounds come with zero gain and vintage off, which really reduces the volume for a style requiring a soft touch.

considering an 210 extension cab (for my 500c) for this purpose. Wondering if anyone else has gone the same route and had positive results?

Also curious about other reggae (or sim tone) eq setting for rumble. I am also using a HPF to experiment with highlighting bass eq, and improving articulation.

thanks in advance.

Enrique, when you say, "the wiki tone settings" do you mean the Rumble TONE POOL? Like this?

After adding a 210, I was able to achieve a wider variety of tones. I don't play reggae, but I can crank the bass and get more boomy, woofy goodness if I wanted to.

Yea, I am not too worried about getting more boom and woof. I feel confident 210 ex cab will provide that. I am wondering about big, clean, articulated notes. I guess there is a fairly simple way to find out.
