Fender Rumble Club

Yes, it is no contest as the Fender Rumble 500 combo can play louder than any drummer can drum. Guitarists are a somewhat different problem. 9mm with a silencer quiets 'em down pretty good. ;)

Hah! Well, our guitarist tends to every once in while hesitantly ask if I would be so kind as to turn my Rumble 500 down a tiny bit. And he plays pretty loud thru two stereod Fender 2x12 combos! But I still keep a 9mm in my bass guitar case for when he asks one time too many. I've personally found that a silencer isn't necessary whilst playing thru a Rumble 500!

Hi Guys - Just a note to say that all your comments were very helpful for this beginner to choose a rig. After reading your posts, I tested out a used (but in almost-new shape) Rumble V3 500 Combo and I thought it sounded great! I'm buying it today, and within a week or two, will hopefully be adding a Rumble 210 Cabinet to it. I'm totally psyched!! We play 90's grunge, so my only worry is lack of volume to keep up with the hard drummer and 2 guitarists. Am I "off base" on that worry? (Please say yes, since I'm a few hours away from plopping down $375!)

You'll be more than loud enough.......trust me! I love the raw power of my 500 combo. It's the loudest amp in our band.

I feel your pain. I have just started playing with a band for the first time (at 41). They are very loud across the board to compete with. I have had excellent feedback as you have about amps, basses, and even strings here which has been awesome. As of yesterday I decided, that if I am going to give this a good go, and I will kick myself if I don't, then I am going to jump in, and I did this...

Good for you, Wilton! That's very cool, and your setup is perfect! In my experience, being in a band is one of the most rewarding things a person can do. I wish you the very best in your endeavor. You made the right decision! :)

Still wanting to join this club! I keep having a line on various Rumbles on local CL. I was looking into a 75W but it sold before I could go check it out.

Then a guy had a Rumble 60 for like $40 I planned to snatch up, but then he told me it had a bad rattle and he thought the speaker was blown. He decided not to sell it.

However, I was hoping for something in more the 100-150W range anyway.

My finances are severely limited at the moment, but I'd still like to find something that can hold up in a jam session with drums and guitarists who don't try to "out-loud" everyone else.

So, I found this listing:

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I hope to check it out this weekend and maybe bring it home. Seller says is is like new, and he's asking under half what it cost new. He mentions they have changed this model some recently. I don't know what the difference is. This is at the top of my budget but it's been listed for a while. I might be able to haggle him down a bit hopefully.

If I could afford a decent head/cab rig setup, I would, but this Rumble 150 does have a line out as well, so if I get back into gigging, I'd think it would be workable, if not ideal.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this model.

Thank you.

@Muddslide, ROMP On It! :hyper:
That looks like new, and he'll probably take $175 cash. Pounce, and don't hesitate. The Rumble 150 combos were introduced in 2010 and quickly became the very best selling bass combos world wide in 2011-13. They are very loud and have B&O D-Class ICE Power sections. Excellent overdrive and compression. Go For It :bassist:
