Fender Rumble Club

New friend for my Rumble! Fantastic sound and set up nearly perfect out of the box. Was worried after hearing horror stories about the quality of Mexican Fenders but this 2015 bass is really amazing.

Anyone know a place to get cheap pickguards that definitely fit?

i can't help you find one but i can advise you that mighty mite is not a definite fit. the spacing for the pots is farther apart than the stock fender, so to fit the pots back in with the mighty mite i had to drill into the control route on the body under the pickguard to widen it up a little. Warmoth would probably be a great fit but they aren't cheap

Would you line the insides of a V3 Rumble 100 or 200? If so, should you get flat sided one inch foam or the textured?
Here in the United States of America, I would use 1 inch textured Sonic Barrier for the back wall. Sonic Barrier 1" Acoustic Sound Damping Foam with PSA 18" x 24"

Forget the fact that it isn't convoluted. It is well textured and engineered. It does what it is supposed to do.

Then I would use 1/2" Sonic Barrier foam for everything else. Sonic Barrier 1/2" Acoustic Sound Damping Foam with PSA 18" x 24"

Getting this back from the dead!

What do you all think of pairing a Rumble 500 combo with a Rumble 210 vs. a Rumble 410?

Since I play with a reggae/dub band, there can never be enough bass; since I might also play in a metal band sometime, it can't be loud enough in general either.

The way I understand it though is that while the 410 will be louder, it'll also be risky since I could pop the 210s if I turn it up too much. Is that a realistic danger?

Furthermore, I am under the impression that the Rumble 500 combo is basically a Runble 210 cab and a 500 head in one package. Has anyone ever thought of or tried removing the head from the box, essentially yielding a 210 cab and a new head?

Take it apart and you will see.
Linnin, I asked because taking it apart on a whim is not what I'd like to do. Since you already seem to know, I ask you to share your knowledge with me. You might as well not have responded at all if all you are going to do is insult me.

That being said, isn't it true that even 250 Watt could blow a 210 if I turn the amp up too far, whilst the 410 wouldn't even complain? Is that a misconception?

I am a little confused myself, crust_cheese.

Anyway, if I played the kinds of music you play and at loud volumes, I would have to think the 410 would just have to be better if even just for pushing that much more air. Don't know if the science-guys would like the way I say that, but I know what I mean. But there are a lot of Rumble Club members who swear by their 500 combos and they only have 2 10s. I say "only 2 10s" with a :D! In your case, two 210 cabs would cover a lot and you can always run just one. I can only imagine what a beast the 410 must be. There are Club members who are running them. Maybe they can chime in. I only run the 200 and it is plenty loud for me with the single 15. And a 100 with a single 12.

I wish I had any insight into taking a 500 combo apart. If I were going to go that route, I really believe a better option is just buying the components because they are reasonably priced (maybe not in Switzerland). If you pulled the head out of a combo, I'm pretty sure it would just be a chassis like most Fenders. You'd have to build a containment because at least one side would be open. Then you'd need to put in input jacks. And you would void a great warrantee.

My experience is very similar, @JakobT. It varies according to the impedance of your headset. On my Rumble 75, quiet practice is 9 o'clock. With headphones, I have to bump it up to 10 o'clock.

I've tried it with two different headphones, my trusty BeyerDynamic DT-770 with 80Ω impedance, and a cheap pair of Sonys with 24Ω. No noticeable difference in volume between them, but If the impedance is the issue, shouldn't there be?

My rumble 200 ready for an audition. Covers up easy with a light jacket, I lay it grille down.

I have used this with both an ampeg mc210e or swr wm1x10t with good results for each. I sold the ampeg micro cl since and am also waiting to try it with Goliath Jr II 16 ohm and son of Bertha 8 ohm. Going to be picking up 8 ohm wm2x10t's one is a good extension like a much better version of that ampeg cab. Probably too heavy for the rumble on the bottom, so the 15 would go on top.

I'd be tempted to use (clean) old towels. It's only necessary to avoid parallel reflective surfaces, so one side, bottom, and back should do it, leaving maximum unobstructed volume. Man I cannot wait for my V3 Rumble 500 to arrive.
I might use the stuff Linnin mentioned and do just the three sides like you said. I remember hearing your advice when I was younger, now that you mention it.

It's a real pain to try and find a decent one that wont cost me an arm and a leg. Everywhere I've looked selling genuine Fender ones are asking crazy prices.

OK, I bought the foam panels today. I was thinking about maybe doing a video of lining my Rumble 100 with 1 to all sides (non-permanently) and checking how it affects the sound so people can decide which sounds best. Maybe I can find the time for it this weekend.

A question - not that I don't like the stock Rumble 100 speaker, not at all, but I guess I'm a tweaker - can anyone chime in if the more expensive Eminence Deltalite II 2512 is a better upgrade than the Eminence Basslite S2012?

I have both, and I actually think the Basslite sounds a little better but they're very close. I have a customized variation the Deltalite in my Rumble 112 Neo cabs. If you don't need the wattage handling capacity, I'd definitely go with the Basslite.
