Very excited about it. I've been playing bass for a few years now but have never owned a proper rig. Have been borrowing from a mate for quite some time.

They'll work just fine. They're not as efficient as a neodymium woofer. Since you're using a low wattage head you're not going after volume, but rather tone. You'll just have to try one to see if it has the tone you like.
They will accurately reproduce what you feed 'em. The custom Eminence designs are among the very best ceramic-ferrite driven woofers ever made by anyone at anytime at any price. The Rumble 112 along with the Rumble 210 are being entirely fabricated at the Eminence factory in China.Agreed the tone is more of the goal than volume. I assume these cabs have more of a warm vintage sound to them.
Oh a side note I have used this Silvertone head with a Showman 15 tone ring cab with a JBL E140 here at home and it sounded great, but the Showman cab is too big and heavy.

Many complaints on TB about this place: nondelivery of goods, nonresponsive to complaints forcing TBers to seek solution through Pay Pal etc. Search in amps. You'll find them. You seem to have an issue with MDB covers. Care to elaborate on them? I fully admit I had a problem with one of mine, and MDB was willing to not only fix the issue, but make a design change to prevent the problem from taking place again. Although customer communication was somewhat slow, considering this is a very small company, probably run out of the guys house, I couldn't ask for anything more.
Interesting, I ordered one. It was delivered promptly. I am having no problems with it.Many complaints on TB about this place: nondelivery of goods, nonresponsive to complaints forcing TBers to seek solution through Pay Pal etc. Search in amps. You'll find them.
Same here.Interesting, I ordered one. It was delivered promptly. I am having no problems with it.
Nor did I, and the customer service was fine when I hit a snag.Same here.
This is the really important part.the customer service was fine when I hit a snag.
Yes, I understand. There's nothing like being able to audition a cab before sinking money into it. can't do that by adding a speaker to something it wasn't designed for. might work, might not. might sounds like what you want, might not. either way, if you mod it, you have to live with the mod.
Don't they (Rumble 112 cabs) have neodymium magnets though? I just bought a pair and everything I've read seems to indicate that they are indeed neos. They'll work just fine. No. The Eminence drivers in the V3 Rumbles are all ceramic-ferrite. V2 Rumble 112's were indeed Eminence neos as were the Rumble 208's. All of the Fender Bassman Pro cabinets are Eminence neos.Don't they have neodymium magnets though? I just bought a pair and everything I've read seems to indicate that they are indeed neos.
Oh, okay. Yeah mine are V2s... Strange that they'd not use neodymium for the V3s.No. The Eminence drivers in the V3 Rumbles are all ceramic-ferrite. V2 Rumble 112's were indeed Eminence neos as were the Rumble 208's. All of the Fender Bassman Pro cabinets are Eminence neos.
Neodymium rare earth magnets very much more expensive than iron filings baked in clay.Oh, okay. Yeah mine are V2s... Strange that they'd not use neodymium for the V3s.
Since you know so much about them, how do the two compare tone-wise?
Kind of like a 15 but without the boomy low end.How would the tone of the Rumble 112 be described?
Under-voltage causes the most ******** problems in equipment. One place I played had a reputation of being haunted (I swear) because of crazy stuff the equipment did. I measured the voltage and it was not only low, but fluctuated. I bought a power conditioner that i keep in the car for just such occasions. NOTE: this is not a power conditioner that is like in an outlet strip... it's a heavy-duty transformer affair that has the capability to increase voltage when the input is low. They ain't cheap, but they don't break the bank either. cheap protection for the gear, though.OK, after a couple of evenings of low-level practice, the problem I described a few pages back regarding the V3 100 cutting out hasn't reappeared. I'm going to chalk it up to an undervoltage situation (I always use a surge strip so a spike wasn't the problem). The only other electronics in the pit that afternoon were an old school Korg synth/piano and the accompanying Roland keyboard amp, equally old school. Mine would have definitely been the most sensitive of the bunch. I'll keep working it out and will report back if I find any more problems. My thanks to all who offered their thoughts on the matter.
