Fender Rumble Club

Yep - the 10s in the 210 will each see twice as much power vs. the 410 drivers. Using 500W as an example, each cab will receive 250W, which means 125W per 10 in the 210 cab, but only 63W per in the 410 (single drivers, such as 112 or 115, would receive the full 250W).

While this is true, it still sounds OK to put a Rumble 500 combo on top of a Rumble 410 if you want to, but I seriously doubt it would achieve a significantly higher maximum SPL than if paired with the Rumble 210 instead. Some Rumble Club members like the 112 or 115 better.

@WRM has the SPL King with the Rumble 500 head atop a pair of Rumble 410 cabinets.

"Tied" - I've company now! :D
Picked up two rumble 4x10s to go w/ my Rumble 500 v3 head. Sounds great!View attachment 738937
I'm sure that you can pair Rumbles however you want - 200/500 head/combo w/a 410, 112, 115, or 210(s). Perhaps it's wise to match cabs so each driver sees the same load, perhaps it doesn't matter? I wanted to spread the load out as much as possible. ;)

IF there's a newer, more powerful, Rumble head coming out, I hope it's a least 1kW into 4 Ohms - anything less that that would mean <3 dB over the R500. :(

Cheers,

I tend to agree. Matched drivers in matched cabinets with matched loads going to the head yields a better sounding rig in most instances. Now all you have to do is EQ for a single driver (no matter how many of them you have) to the room; stage, and air space. In days of yore, this is why the 2x15 or 810 cabinets became so popular. EQ was far more simplistic, but the Bandaxall passive Fender/Marshall/Vox tone stack was infuriatingly interactive. Tweak one tone control and one beside it also changes oftentimes in counter-intuitive ways. I praise Fender's Principal Engineer Dave Lewis for the most excellent and well thought out active four band tone controls on the Rumble front end. Great tone with the greatest of ease. Sublime tweakability.

Sign me up! Just got my hands on a Fender Rumble 500 V3 combo:

I've only had a few hours to really get a feel for it, but man I can tell it's all the amp I'll ever need! The tonal options are tremendous for an amp in this price range...and I'm really digging the overdrive...not to mention the crazy light weight! No more begging my friends to help me haul my previous 150lb. SWR 8x10 and 60lb rackmounted amp head!

I have been running a v-3 combo 500 for about 8 months and I noticed that my overdrive circuit may not be working properly. When engaged it doesn't distort much and there is a hiss that increases with the level increase. I just recently picked up the 210 extension and the problem is amplified by the full power 500 watts that the extension provides. While I don't use the overdrive much I am wondering if this is normal. Anybody else experience this?

Notwithstanding this anomaly, the amp and extension sound great!

Well that's not good. @JakobT had a similar problem with his Rumble 100, and exchanged for a new unit. Give Fender a call on Monday for a repair authorization and address of your nearest Fender authorized service center.

I recently grabbed one of these too, the 500 V3 210 combo. I haven't had a whole lot of time with it yet, but I am noticing that set flat it's pretty boomy and bottom heavy. Good for the low end, sure, but I can't seem to hear the whole signal "correctly" like I believe I can with my small practice amp. It's been awhile since I've used a large amp, is the thing. Anybody got EQ recommendations for just a generic rock tone (70s to 90s, say) to start from?

I cut the bass to 10 o'clock.

With my Sadowsky I also cut my bass to 10 o clock while everything else is flat, however with my SBMM ray4 the bass is also at 12 o clock, then the rest tweaked after how the acoustics in the room sounds, I find the eq very powerful and usable while the 3 filter buttons dont appeal too me. Btw the horn in the rumbles really impresses me, awesome treble without being harsh or hissy, much better than the Markbass tweeters.

I run my Rumble 500 combo 10-inches off the floor, 18" away from walls and all my EQ set flat, GAIN at noon, no tone-shaping buttons engaged. I LOVE the tone. Any tone shaping I do, I do on the bass itself. Plenty of variation on my Ibanez sr1200e -- all the tonal variation I can dream of.
I wish I could do 18" from the walls. Just don't have that kind of space anywhere in my house. But I will do what I can!
