Soooo, my first real gigging band broke up yesterday. Left a REALLY bad taste in my mouth.
. Still a RUMBLER!
Yea, our situation was basically a personality melt down among friends. Tons of opportunities locally for our shtick but nobody wanted to do the work as a team. I'm seriously considering selling a rifle or shotgun to keep the 500 . God I love that thing. Love my wife more. We'll see....Sucks about your band. It is all too common. Our drummer left me high and dry this past Saturday 2 hours before the gig. Not cool. Fortunately another drummer who has heard us several times picked up the slack for Saturday and then Monday (HE IS IN ANOTHER BAND ON THE SAME LITTLE TOUR). Anyway--don't get too discouraged and stop playing. It happens all the time. People will be people.
I'm gonna try my v3 100 in my NB today and see if it fits.I know what you mean.... I've had an NA, and NB, and now an NC. I don't plan to ever be without one.
Now go back to your Camry and cry, little boy.

Because all the cool kids have one?OK the V3 200 not only has a price drop right now, but MF's email coupon works with it (not the website holiday promo coupon). Brings the total to about $270.
Trying to make a really good case to present to Santa as to why I need this amp at this price. Any ideas?

The reason I did it is because I was exhausted with the sound of my Acoustic. I was considering spending a heckuva lot more on a Markbass rig that would have cost close to $800. The Rumble 200c actually sounded a bit better than I had expected, Guitar Center matched the MF price, and I got 36 months of no interest (I had to add some Ernie Ball Cobalt guitar strings to get it back up to $300 for the interest kick-in). Only two days in, and this is the vibe I've been looking for. I play a Squier VM 70s Jazz, a Peavey Fury P-bass, and a Schecter Riot 4 Session. I can dial this in with any of those to just the tone I like.
However, being that it will be my only rig once I can get the Acoustic sold; I have to keep it turned down to almost nothing in the house.
Yes!Soooooooo... If santa decides I've been nice. Can the 200watt Rumble keep up with a loud, drummer and an overpriced (though wonderful) tube amp with too much clean headroom played by a really, really happy-to-finally-have-his-deluxe guitarist? Or do I need to save up for the 500watt?
Yes!Yes, the Rumble 200 will do you just fine, and you can trade your Acoustic in on it.
Rumble On!

FYI, the reason GC charges sales tax and MF does not is a legal issue, not their choice. The law says that if they have a brick and mortar in a state, they have to charge tax. If there is no physical presence in the state, then the don't.You're the debil!!!
Not sure about trade in, though. I'm too far from a GC, and I really don't want to ship my 55lb of amp for the tiny discount they might give on it. I would buy via MF with my discount, and sell my acoustic locally. Driving and tax would probably eat up benefit I would get for driving to a GC. I'm in the boonies, man. Part of the reason I'm addicted to MF. And they know it. Every holiday season they pull out the hookers and blow. At least GC has the good sense to charge taxes. But MF? No morals, man.
tell the mrs (oops, i meant Santa):
1. sales on these NEVER happen.
2. discounts on these are seldom, even moreso when you get a double discount.
3. you've been a good boy.
If dealing with the wife, I have learned that a woman's perspective is that as long as it's on sale, it's cool. you may not even need it, or there is a remote chance you will need it, or you don't need it but like it. if it's on sale, it's must be purchased.
I work on the premise it is easier to get forgiveness than permission.Oh you soooo don't know Ms. Santa. Let's just say I married her because she wasn't like other girls. That, and we make joint decisions on just about everything. I attribute our 20 years of awesomeness together to that.
In any case, she knows my history with MF enough to know that sales like this DO happen. I almost could argue that Fender never goes on sale, but the markdown on the 200 is across the board. Amazon has it, too. It's just that my little hit of crack email coupon MF sent me also works on it, even though technically it's not supposed to.

I know it make no sense, but you have to remember, these rules are made by politicians.
