I might be abit dense here but in some Fender ads, I see where they call the Rumble 115, 210 v3 cabs as "extension cabs". This seems to me to mean these cabs are best used as extensions to the Fender combos. I ask because I'm looking at a 115 v3 cab to be used as a stand alone cab with my Ampeg ri-V4B. And I only use 5 string basses, active or passive. I've searched this thread some and many seem to be impressed with the V3 Rumble gear quality. I used to have the older Fender Rumble 100 watt combo but sold it to my nephew as it was limited to my needs.
I'm now needing a single, small-ish cab for low-med, volume at restaurant-outdoor patio gigs using my V4B. At only 100 watts this amp can put out some big volume when I use it with my 212AV cab. But that's too much for this gig, even just space-wise.
Just wondering if anyone uses the 115 Rumble cab as such and not just as a extension cab w/combos. I know no one can speak to my perceived low-med volumes. But could it withstand such use in a blues-rock context for these outdoor patio type gigs? I've already done this gig with my GK MB800+GB NeoX112T cab and wasn't pushing it, so really never a super loud gig at all. Thanks for any replies here. peace, e.
Haven't used the RUMBLE 115 but I use the Bassman Pro Neo 115 cab with my Ampeg V4B RI often. ..and. ..as Linnin states. ..it sure it's a great 115 cab. With ANY amp powering it that I've used, it sounds great. Very round, vintage-ey,and handles a ton of power. I can go actually run my Super Bassman 300w head into power tube break up into it without it breaking a sweat.
Sorry I can't help re the Rumble 115.
