Fender Rumble Club

i have a 500c with a 210 in classified for a ridiculous low price. But it is local, because when you add shipping, it doesn't work at the asking price.
I live in bay area, so I thought a cal. sale would be easy. But it is still here. Now I am considering shipping but would have to add the cost so the deal not as attractive. I'm sure impressed with the rumble tho!

Cant you just say something like "$nnn - local pickup; or will courier but buyer to pay delivery costs" ?

Look what was waiting for me when I got home from work tonight!:hyper: Found it on Reverb. The seller said it was new in the box but based on the price I assumed it was a store demo or something. It was still fully packaged in all the original packaging, including the soft case. Got it for only $255 shipped! (No that's not a typo.) Only had about 15 minutes to play around with it but so far I'm really digging it!

So, I'm going to be without my Rumble for a bit. The issue that I had when I first got the amp a little over a year ago has come back with a vengeance, so it's going in for repair. An intermittent crackling noise that starts within minutes of turning on the amp. The overdrive lamp flickers along with the noise, so that's a possible cause. The noise comes through all output methods (speaker, headphones, XLR). It started back up recently, but it would go away within a few minutes of powering up. Now it's taking longer for it to go away, so off to the shop it goes. Fortunately, I don't have any gigs lined up for a while, and I can just use the house rig at the rehearsal studio.

I was looking forward to your report, after the apprehension noted in that other thread. Glad, but not at all surprised, to hear that initial impression was favorable! Keep us posted, and welcome to the club!

I had some friends over on Sunday, so took the R500h and an R410 outside with the JamMan stereo to provide some tunes (cabled to "Input"). Worked very well, but had to keep the master below 9 or it was too loud (Gain @ 11, Vintage "On", OD "Off", EQ ~Flat)! Really liking that rig.... :D

(Edited to add) @crucislancer - if OD light is flickering, I'm guess that it is in the preamp stage, so would indeed effect out/headphones/DI. I'm sure they'll fix you right up.

Cheers,

Welcome to the Fender Rumble Club @gjbassist :woot: You are member #622 :hyper:
:D Rumbles Rule! :D

I got to hear my Rumble 500 v3 combo from the house last night!
A drummer friend asked me to help him host an open mic last night. It is a club that just reopened and hasn't had time to get advertising out about the open mic night. I went for two reasons, first to help out my friend, and second because he said he got two bookings for his band and he would introduce me to the manager so I might get some for mine. It was a semi disaster in that we had no guitar player show up. The manager plays drums and said his dad plays guitar and would get him to come in. He did, but he didn't know anything we played and didn't know what a 12 bar blues is. So we just jammed and made it up as we went along. His style was on the heavy side, so I cranked my overdrive up to 12. We took a break and he asked if his son could play drums and he could play my bass. I allowed it.
He was playing my Precision Select. I got to sit out front and listen.
I was totally blown away. I had no idea my rig sounded that good from out front. I could have sworn I was listening to an old Bassman tube amp. My drummer friend was also impressed. He said the sound was very punchy and defined with no boomyness at all.
My settings were:
Gain 11, vintage On, Bright Off, Contour off, overdrive 12, level 10, all tone knobs 12, master 10, no horn.
And I got one gig booked. A good time was had by all.

I play wireless so I go out to listen a few times a night, and I have been very happy with the sound myself.

I feel like my rumble 500 combo is underperforming. At rehearsal all the way cranked still doesn't feel like enough. Do I buy an extension cab or sell and try something else? I mean, i love the sound I get, but it feels like it's not enough. Maybe the other guys are too loud?

I would say they are playing much too loud. You will get more power with the extension but it seems excessive to have to.

Are there like 3 drummers and 15 guitars in your band? Is your 500 plugged in?
But seriously, folks, there must be something wrong with your amp or maybe a settings problem. Compare what your settings are to the tone pool. The 500 combo is plenty loud.
How large is your practice space?
In a small space, bass frequencies may not have enough room to fully develop.
Where are you standing in relation to your amp?
It could be the sound is blowing by you knees and you aren't really hearing it. Can your band mates hear you?
