Fender Rumble Club

Are there like 3 drummers and 15 guitars in your band? Is your 500 plugged in?
But seriously, folks, there must be something wrong with your amp or maybe a settings problem. Compare what your settings are to the tone pool. The 500 combo is plenty loud.
How large is your practice space?
In a small space, bass frequencies may not have enough room to fully develop.
Where are you standing in relation to your amp?
It could be the sound is blowing by you knees and you aren't really hearing it. Can your band mates hear you?

In the really loud band it is a small basement, and they swear they can hear me. In the other, the band leader is also a shop owner and he doesn't think the amp is actually 500W. I disagree with that, but he thinks there should be more, I guess.

Well, is there any way I'm not getting full power out of the amp? It is a used amp.

Maybe it's placement of the amp. But stacking 210s would also help that, I suppose.

Admittidly, I have almost no clue when it comes to amplifiers.
okay, do check the Fender Rumble Club Tone Pool and compare your settings. Another thing to consider is tilting your amp back. You can buy a fold up stand you put your amp on that points the face up so you can hear it better.

It is 500 into a 4 ohm load. Without an extension cab, you are getting about 350. Even that should be enough.

He's correct. The amp is only running at 350w without the extension cab. That shouldn't make a difference, but maybe you're too close to the amp. The sound is blowing at your pants, and not your ears. Also if you have the BASS EQ cranked that would soak up a bunch of your power.

Maybe it's placement of the amp.
Bingo-Zingo, Baby! Place your Rumble on a wooden stool or chair, and get it up off the floor. Also put your amp about a foot away from the wall. Put your amp straight across from the drummer. Have it pointing directly at him; you and the rest of the band. Don't make excuses. If you have to move other equipment out of the way, then move it.

Sounds like a good plan to me! Although, seeing other people's Rumble Stacks make me want to take the wooden stool or chair out of the equation, and put in a Rumble 210, lol.

I will try this and report back! In the meantime, my handle broke! Gonna have to find a way in to fix that later on, wish me luck!

... An intermittent crackling noise that starts within minutes of turning on the amp. The overdrive lamp flickers along with the noise, so that's a possible cause.

This sounds typical of a bad solder joint. Cold joints may pass a visual inspection and a short operational test, but as the operating temperature increases or vibration increases, the connection may become intermittent.

The various electronics modules in the Rumble line are well-engineered and I expect there would be virtually no failures within any of them. However, the humans who are assembling the final products could make the occasional bad solder joint which might pass short operational tests. This would fall squarely under the definition of a "manufacturing defect" and would most certainly be covered under warranty.

I think a bad solder joint during final assembly is the most likely cause of your amp's problem.

Agreed, also the RoHS compliant solder isn't as good as the toxic lead solder.

Pardon me for not wanting to read back through 532 pages in this thread, but for those of you stacking combos on external cabs, what do you do to ensure the combo doesn't end up on the floor unexpectedly?
Good Question. I read somewhere that some people have re positioned the rubber feet on the bottom of the 500c to not be as close to the edge.
