Fender Rumble Club

@Linnin anything about the v3 edition surprise you?
Well, I've auditioned them here and there in music stores and was always partial to the Rumble 200 combo. Now that I'm living with one, my initial impressions are that set flat with no voicings engaged it is very Rumble like. Which is to say it sounds nearly identical to the V2 Rumble 150 1x15 combo. I really like the Vintage voicing at personal practice volume. Will have to try it a drum volume sometime soon. The Overdrive is going to take some experimentation, but I can dial in some light tube like distortion pretty easily. Right now I think I like the V2 Overdrive better. Overall the classic retro Fender look is killer; the light weight and ease of movement, the wonderfully warm and lusciously smooth Eminence 15" woofer are the outstanding achievements of the V3 Fender Rumble 200 combo.

Except for the 800 watts, you've just described the Bassman 500 hybrid almost to a "T".
Not really, the bassman has a tube preamp and is in a really big box and much higher price point.

Adding a tuner out really wouldn't cost that much, and if a slightly improved " flagship" rumble was being designed, I'm sure it wouldn't be too much trouble to add a pre/post switch.

And if 500w is equal to others 800w, well why not dish out 800w and see who's more expensive 1000w+ range amplifier it outperforms. OK, it can weigh 6 lbs. For touring reliability, available rack ears would be a nice touch too.

Yes I know changing things makes them more expensive and not as easy to crank out in bulk, surely the only.difference between 200 and 500 is one set of components and what gets screen printed.

I'm just having fun.

Just checkin in/ been busy since dec 14 playin my 200 every week and most time keep eq flat/ wounderin of late if playin out i should add high mids / slight distortion/slight gain id cut thru even better in the mix ?/so far well pleased with this amp run thru PA and also most often carry my 40 to put on other side of stage and let them adjust volume there/ there are alot of eq possibilities with this and ive not really explored them playin live/ a good friend whos played bass for years asked me about what i use and ordered a rumble 200 a couple weeks ago/ im hearin more and more of folks leavin their heavy amps at home and using lighter rigs/ Keep on Rumblin Rumblers!

I will be joining the club soon! I put a deposit on a Rumble 200 and I get it as soon as the trade in hold comes off it. Its only $249 but they also have a 500 for $299 and Im thinking about that instead. Just messing around right now but might start playing small live shows soon. Is the 200 enough for small bars/clubs our should I get the 500? Hard rock music.

E. All of the above.

I visit a lot. I have multiple friends and family in the area. A few months ago some low fares hit on Alaska Airlines for SNA to STS so I grabbed a round trip. It was cheaper than buying the gas and I gained almost 2 full days not stuck in a car getting that weird combination of bored and aggravated. Grabbed a rent-a-car at STS and headed down to my Airbnb at the autistic horny lady's house in Santa Rosa.

Night #1 was at Russian River where my Santa Rosa girlfriend and I each got a [different] salad and shared a pizza. I had Row 2 Hill 56 as this is harder to get in Orange County than Pliny the Elder.

Night #2 was several hours at Lagunitas with an old college friend and her husband and kids. I had the lamb burger which was good enough but rather lack-luster; should have had the pulled pork or brisket sandwich which are slow smoked and wonderful. Beer was the always-available IPA and Little Sumpin' Sumpin'. The band was good but a little too loud for casual conversation even though we were about as far away as you could get in the Beer Sanctuary.

Day #3 was lunch in Graton with my cousin and the GF, then dinner in Healdsburg at Bear Republic Brewing Company. The Black and Blue burger was cooked and assembled to perfection and was consumed with gusto along with fist-fulls of garlic fries. I had pints of Hop Shovel until I was ready to burst.

Day #4 was breakfast tostadas at Naked Pig with a side of local bacon. Then spent time in the hills with the girlfriend.

Day #5 started off with breakfast at Criminal Baking Co. before gassing up the Rav4 and heading for the airport. The day ended with me feeding my cat, then going to the beach to read and have dinner and beer.

A good mini vacation!

Outstanding! Definitely sounds like a nice mini-vacation, all of those places have good eats, though I have yet to eat at Lagunitas. I might have to consider Alaska Airlines in the future the next time I head down your way.

We look forward to it! Yes, the Rumble 200 combo is plenty for small bar gigs and parties. It is perfect for jam sessions. With only $50 difference it is a no brainer to step up to the 500. Do audition both for an A/B comparison, and just pick the one you like best. Don't be surprized if that's a tough decision to make. Rumble On!

I use even the 100 in small clubs. I still like my 200 a lot more though. I like the 15 in the 200. The 500 would just be overkill for me. But....maybe you play louder?
