Fender Rumble Club

Just in case people thought I was falling off the rumble cab wagon because I bought the TC K212 cab...

This happened on a whim:
View attachment 885147

Picked up a rumble 112 V2 off the TB classifieds for $200 shipped.
It's in minty shape, and sounds great!

Now I've got a nice portable 112 rig to grab and go to the buddies to jam.

Sits nicely sideways on top of the TC, but I hate that the handle isn't recessed, so the head is wobbly.
So the layout shown is really just for the pic.

So I'll likely just leave it on there horizontally, with the nice magnetic head holders that are built into the 112.

How does the TCE cab sound?

How does the TCE cab sound?

It sounds really good so far! Just been too busy with real life to put many miles on it yet. I'm more than happy with it though. Only negative I might give it is the horn isn't adjustable unless you're using a tc amp.
However, it blends new very well, and no tinny-ness whatsoever. Don't even notice a "tweeter" sound like I did with the 350 combo.
I'll have to cover it some time to see what difference it makes.
I was looking for more "modern" sounding. And though I never had a chance to audition a rumble 210 or 15, I was somewhat concerned they might be too "vintage" for what I like to play.
The reports, though few and far between, were good on these cabs, and I really wanted a 212 cab, as I figure that's all I'll ever need.

Hi,

I picked up a rumble 500 last week.

I wanted to check if the horn is supposed to make a noticeable difference.

When I switch it on I can hear a slight hiss coming from the tweeter but other than that no real significant difference to the sound - could it be faulty or is that pretty much as expected?

I have only played in the house at sensible levels so maybe it comes in more at higher volumes?

The tweeter comes into play gradually around 1.8 - 2 kHz. You can hear it best in a large room. Go out 40 feet or so in front of your amp. Have a friend switch the horn off. You play some high noodles, and he switches it on while you noodle. You will hear the difference clearly.
