Fender Rumble Club

If your drummer wont play at a reasonable volume, beat him into next week.

None of them are mine. I wouldn't claim ownership of a drum monkey.... I actually just play with a few different drummers during our every so often jams. So there's three or four. One likes brushes, one has volume control, one of them I haven't seen in a while, and one of them is trying to bust the drums. I swear that he is the most heavy handed drummer I've ever heard. It's hard to hear the kick underneath the rest of the noise, even if I'm right beside him. I have to feel it.

Or take his sticks and leave only brushes.

I wish that I could. He swears that brushes mess up his technique. From my perspective, he uses the same techniques that Godzilla does when he's tearing down Tokyo skyscrapers.

Breaking Rumble News! For any of us that have ordered covers from Michael D. Bradshaw of MDB Covers: "The power outages caused by the recent flooding we had in the Houston area just has me running a little behind... Especially on the Rumble 200 & 500 model, which by far my most popular model." So there you have it. Just be patient. He's making 'em as fast as he can!

Promark Cool Rods; Hot Rods, and Thunder Rods!
Promark C-Rods Cool Rods Drumsticks

In all seriousness, they are excellent products. There are a number of manufacturers, materials, and variations. They give drummers many sonic options. I like to use them when I am learning a new song because I can hear the other instruments so much better when I am not making the normal amount of volume with traditional sticks.

Well, I finally pulled the trigger on a 2x10 extension for my 500c. I was in GC to pick up some other monitors I'd ordered and told a sales guy I deal with frequently I would buy the cab as soon as there was some sort of 15% off deal and asked him when the next one might be. He went to check with the manager and they cooked up something in the back room and I got the 15% off. It should be here next week. Now to order the MBD cover for it.

Shaweet! I thought said you didn't need it somewhere in this thread? :)

I may have to get the matching 2x10 amp stand for my own 500c some day. Just, you know, because. I have plenty of volume now with the gain at noon and master at 9 o' clock, but everybody needs an amp stand.

And a very sexy amp stand at that. I know of no other amp stand that adds about 5 dB while opening up the power amp from 350 to 500 watts while moving twice as much air at the same time and boosting the bottom end by a good 3 dB or more just by the cabinet coupling effect! Such good stuff for such a low price!

Sure you can get stupid ugly amp stands for fifty bucks but .....

Well, I'm going for the gusto.

My band is working on finishing our first album. I started adding bass lines today( had a couple done last fall). I decided to use the Rumble 500 head as the pre amp for the tracks. I used several other options first, then grabbed it and tried it. It sounded beyond awesome from the line out. It got used for the rest of the day after getting sound levels and tests done.

So far, I used my American Jazz, American Precision with rounds and my Road Worn Precision with flats. Everything sounded great. Only other effect used was my MXR pre-amp and tuner.

I'll post something when we get done. Hoping for end of July. This is a DYI project, btw.

I'm excited to share this with you folks. As far I know, no one else has used it to record. I'm surprised I am! Had my GK, Orange, and 3 different kinds of DI /Pre Amps to choose from and plug ins, but went with the Rumble instead.

That's really cool. I just recorded an EP using my 500c as a preamp using the built-in DI. MXR M87 and Billy Sheehan pedal, Fender P w Rounds. Dirt on Sheehan pedal about 30%.

Sound was excellent. Will post clips also when I can.

Cheers.

Looks like the 200c is going to debut on Friday. Gonna play a local "jam" at a bar. This guy books it as a jam, mainly to get others to play with him, but it is a pretty fun time and he plays out almost every week. The issue is he has all his music on an iPad in .pdf and he puts up the lyrics on a big screen in front of whoever is playing with him, but the chords are off to the side, not on top of the lyric the change happens on. Sucks, especially as a newb. So I will spend most of my time watching the guitar for the changes. At any rate, it will be a good time to try her out live. Now the question is, which bass to cart along.
Just got back from this jam / gig thing. Uggh, not knowing the songs coupled with the goofy way he has his stuff displayed onscreen made for a very frustrating time. I had fun, don't get me wrong, but dang.

The Rumble 200c worked flawlessly, she is hard to hear sitting on the floor standing right in front of her but at the back of the room, holy crap! My buddy played my bass for a bit because I was getting pretty frustrated with the music layout, and OMG that thing sounded soooo darn good. Cut through the 6 string EAG and 12 string EAG noise no problem. The 12 string guy asked my buddy to turn it down, it was only sitting at 10:30 for pete's sake! Gain was at about 2:00, OD off, EQ flat, vintage engaged. Room is about 20' X 50', built longer than wide. She's a keeper for sure.

Just in case people thought I was falling off the rumble cab wagon because I bought the TC K212 cab...

This happened on a whim:

Picked up a rumble 112 V2 off the TB classifieds for $200 shipped.
It's in minty shape, and sounds great!

Now I've got a nice portable 112 rig to grab and go to the buddies to jam.

Sits nicely sideways on top of the TC, but I hate that the handle isn't recessed, so the head is wobbly.
So the layout shown is really just for the pic.

So I'll likely just leave it on there horizontally, with the nice magnetic head holders that are built into the 112.
