Fender Rumble Club

Gman, I am seriously green. Now THAT is a stack!

Another noob question for everyone: how can you tell how many "watts" of cabs you can put below a given amp head?
It isn't the watts that matter as long as they add up to what the head will put out. The important thing is the impedance. The Rumbles that have external speaker jacks are rated for 8 ohms with no external speaker cab and 4 ohms with an external speaker cab. You should never go below the rating for the amp. It will damage it. So, for the Rumbles, when you add external cabs, the total impedance of those cabs should be at least 8 ohms. There are sites that will help you calculate that.

I'm happy to have you handle issuing numbers, @lowplaces. I thought of volunteering, but I can't see myself as worthy to fill @Linnin 's shoes.
And a second welcome to Gabe.

Well I'm just a noob to the Rumble world. Just helping out, and again anyone can hand out numbers. We can work together till Linnin gets back.

And I pray he does recover.

I will eventually get the 500 combo, but I will want the 210 extention cab with it
Yeah, that's the rig I gig with. The first time I added the 2x10, the guitar player was complaining he had to turn up because I was too loud.
This is his rig:

That's my rig as well. Loud as all get out, tone for days...

Sadly it has sat idle for a bit too long. Been slow gig wise, and have had paying video jobs going on since late spring. Prepping for gigs in the next couple of weeks though. Hope I can play through this heat. Ugh!

8? Or 4?

Took the 500c to an audition tonight. Could tell the guys were skeptical when I loaded in, guitarist was playing through a Mesa half stack and was pretty loud. I turned the Rumble up just past nine o'clock and thundered along happily - they were surprised and pleased. Sounded great, I am thrilled with this combo. Will be jamming with those guys again as well, so audition phase one went perfectly, now just to make sure we all get along and continue to play well together.

There's no doubt that the 500 can hold its own against some pretty loud bandmates. I've been GASing for an extra R210 cab to go with my 500 combo, but the truth is I don't really need it.

You don't really need it, but it sure adds the physical shake their booties punch. I started with the 500 and added the 2x10. It's like the whipped cream and cherry on top.
