Fender Rumble Club

That's not to say we always see eye-to-eye. I've argued against some of his solutions to problems. For example, he was shocked I went off omeprazole cold turkey and asked "Why?" I gave my reasons and he acknowledged them and I'm still off any and all proton pump inhibitors. That was not easy to do. It was severe stomach acid and reflux for 3 months until things leveled out. I had to reset my digestive system and had nothing but water and apples for a week. I had to sleep sitting up or I could have aspirated acid and gone out Jimi Hendrix-style. If you've ever gotten stomach acid down your windpipe or into your lungs, you have felt some serious pain!

I cold turkeyed omneperazole as well some years back. Had a couple of episodes where I could only lay down on the floor in fetal position. Those proton pump inhibitors are BAD. I really feel for people who have to be on those things. I was pit on those speculatively due to some wierd still undiagnosed thing I had going on.

My experience in the high tech world is that really only a small percent of them are actually really good at what they do. Medicine isn't really that much much different except more people go into medicine for the money and social status than they do for technology. To me that means that likely that mediocrity, incompetence and general disinterest is what you'll find as the norm in medicine. I'm generalizing way too much and the rate of competence goes up dramatically with specialists like surgeons, cancer treatment specialists, etc.

A good positive story...I know of a missionry who had a severe heart attack in romania and had to have sugery there. They popped him open, did stints and bypass and not long aftee he was on his way again. Big bonus was that the whole procedure ended up being only thousands of dollars instead of the financial mess here.

Hi all,
Can I get a Rumble number? Just plugged it in today -- 500 head with a 210. Wow, P-bass thump is too much for my drywall, in a good way. I'll be using the J pickup a bit more around the house. I'm thinking if I need to raise the bar a bit for playing out, I'll add a 115.

Glad to have you on board. Be sure to share your gigs stories with us. Be aware that sometimes when you show up with a Rumble, you will get funny looks. When you play it, you will get looks of surprise and amazement. I always get a kick out of that.

That was exactly my experience with my new band - showed up and put my little 500 combo across from the guitarist's Mesa half stack of doom - they gave me a weird look at first - then after 1 song I needed to turn down so he could be heard :)

I have the same rig right now, I'm not sure you will ever need to add to it. I haven't needed to and I've played some really big places, indoors and out. Carries plenty of volume and bottom end with just the 210.

Hey everyone,

I picked up a rumble 25 earlier this week. I figured I'd put it through its paces before posting it here. It's definitely a keeper. I don't think there is a better quality sounding amp in the price range. I also haven't had an amp this size since I first started playing roughly 12 years ago. It's a nice size to have for all experience levels in my opinion. I got it mainly because my main amp head died on me (second time) and I don't have anything else to practice with (not currently gigging but nice to still be able to play through a speaker). This little guy is what I'll be using in the mean time while I'm dealing with the warranty on my other amp, but I'm not complaining.

Thanks!

What's anybody's thoughts on pairing a rumble head with SWR cabs? Specifically a son of bertha (1x15 8 ohm) or a big bertha (2x15 4 ohm). And would a rumble 500 head be better suited for those cabs vs a 200 head?
There is a lot of love here for SWR. The Rumble 500 would be better suited for your 215 Big Bertha. You could try a Rumble 200 combo on top of your Son of Bertha to see if it is a sonic match then you'd also have two 15's.

The rumble 200 combo on top of the son of bertha would be a pretty cool option if they pair well together. I'll have to check that out. When it comes to the rumbles I seem to lean towards the combos vs the heads anyways.
