Fender Rumble Club

I think I've made my decision. I want to get a Fender Bassman 1x15 Neo cab with a 500 watt combo top. As much as I love the idea of a Rumble 1x15 or 4x10 cabinet to match the 500 watt top, fact is, I don't need a 4x10 (I'd never take it anywhere) and a 1x15 makes sense. However, the Rumble 1x15" is only rated for 8 ohm @ 300W RMS, whereas Bassman 115 is rated for 8 ohm @ 350W RMS. While that seems like a small difference, most 500W heads are putting out 350W at 8 ohm, so that 50W is a big one in my mind, since it means I will be able to play 500W heads without any worries. Plus, I think few people would argue with the Bassman being the better cab, and it's also super light and looks to be a close match visually to the Rumble series.

Thank you so much, you guys, for your help.

And sorry I called metal grilles insufferably ugly, but I hope you all realize that I come from a world where certain grilles just are very beautiful to me. The Orange wheat grille, Fender silver, Ampeg silver, Marshall salt and pepper, and Vox diamond are my top 5 grillclothes. To me, metal grilles are more in that Peavey category of I appreciate their usefulness, but I think they're ugly. And for what it's worth, I find Peaveys to be the ugliest amps in the whole wide world w/ that pointy logo, but I've probably had more Peavey amps than any other because they're so good and affordable.

I'm gonna tell you something, though, just by putting that silver on the grille, Fender has probably gained a LOT of sales. Honestly, in the store, I kept going back and forth between the TC BG250 (1x15 model) and Rumble 200 and I loved them both about equal and they both sounded good and were the same weight, but I really wanted any reason to favor the BG250 because it has built-in tuner and TonePrint effects. But I kept looking at the Rumble 200 and being like, man, I'd be proud to be photographed in front of that thing, no matter what I paid for it. BG250? Not so.

My practice amp is a Peavey w/ a pointy logo and it uglifies the entire living room. Do you think the GF will complain if I replace it with a classy looking Fender Rumble? Probably not!

Re: Rumble 210 ext cab:
The bad news straight from Fender:

Unfortunately there is nothing in the works for a Rumble 210 cab. I have seen the Rumble 500 combo used with the Rumble 15 cab or the Rumble 410 cab with good results. I hope this helps!

Can someone give a 3rd grader explanation of the "Gain" knob on my amp?

Please type slowly and use small words. The manual isn't very helpful.

Gain adjusts the initial input gain stage, and it determines how "hot" or strong the signal is passing through the tone stack and then on to the output section. The Master volume, in turn, determines how hard the output section works to amplify the signal.

I typically expect to find an LED or other indicator showing when the signal is clipping at the initial input gain stage, but the Rumble heads/combos do not have this. So, use your ears and turn things up until you start to hear distortion when you hit the strings the hardest. Back down a bit from this point, and that should be a good initial setting. Of course, turn it down a bit more if you hear more distortion later on. If that doesn't fix it, then turn down the master volume.

Manuals! I forget those things exist.* Thanks!

I'm so excited about the 210 combo and getting a 1x15" to sit under that thing. My bandmates are going to be so stoked.** Five hundred watts! Whoever thought that was possible for under 40 pounds!

* Until I need to remember what kind of speaker jack a certain amp uses.

** I actually play lead guitar in my band. Bass is entirely something I do in my free time.

Never mind. I just went to AMS and saw they had a non-factory sealed 1x15" for $269. Just made that order.

So I'll be one of the many here with a 1x15" + 500W 2x10" combo stack! I can't believe how loud, versatile, good looking, light, and inexpensive these amps are. I'm going to have a lot of fun with this setup and have something that can handle a low B and pump out serious volume while costing no more than my old Ampeg stack.

Another question about the V3 combos.....in one of the eBay descriptions I ready a blurb stating that this combo uses Fender's patented magnetic head attachment (or something similar to those words)....does this mean the head can be popped out for use with another cab(s)? If so, does this apply to all or only the larger combos? After years of scratching my head at how Fender amps seemed to lag in the innovation dept., they just may have finally checked all my boxes and earned my dollars......

This is my stack, the eden nemesis will be replaced by an eminence delta loaded hartke once it's finished
