Fender Rumble Club

Ive had my Rumble 500/210 mini rig for a few weeks now, have taken it to a few rehearsals and am now familiar enough with the eq to dial in/out whatever i need, really happy with the range of tones I can get.
My P bass has worn flats nearly the whole time i've had it, my current gig is dance/rock stuff, so I recently swapped the flats out for a set of DR lo-riders. As the "new round zing" is wearing off, Im getting a killer 70's rock P-Bass sound....I'm generally using the below setting ranges:
Gain: 7-9
OD: Off
Bass: 9-10:30
Low Mid: 2-3
High Mid: 1-2
Treble: 10-11
210 Cabinet Tweeter set to -6db

I have ranges in here because this can be easily tweaked depending on the room and/or the bass im using. If the room is real muddy/mushy ill have the bass down to 9 and bump up one or both mids as necessary. This was sitting really well in the mix at practice last night, and the classic P Bass/Rumble tone fits and blends in perfectly with the tunes my current band is playing.

Is it a Warwick or a rock bass? If it is not a rock bass, @Linnin comment of cheap bass certainly does not apply, but in my opinion, if it IS a rock bass, then overpriced Chinese bass would be my description. Real Warwicks are definitely not cheap. I'm equal opportunity, 3 real fenders, 3 real warwicks, they both have their places and do something the other can't.

Warwick proud, fender proud, rock bass? Not so much.

Its a Rock Bass, from the era where it still had the W on the headstock. I just got me a new 5er which blows it away, tone and feel-wise, so I may have to let it go. I don't know when I'll play it, and unplayed basses make me sad. It has served me well.

Better than the earlier era that had the one piece bridge, but that was also before the crazy price increases. $900 for a rock bass $$ with passive electronics and.basic maple/rosewood neck is insane. For that price at least you could get ovangkol/wenge. But then again, what was once a $1k German Warwick is now a $2-3k bass

I agree. I didn't pay that much for it and I'm glad.

I got killer steal deals on 2 of my Warwick's, and fair used market price on the third, all between 2000-2001 when prices were much more reasonable, rockbass/China was not yet a thing, and certainly not Korean made Warwick's, everything was German made, and the entry level was the slab body streamer standard with one piece bridge and passive soap bar pickups, but still a real Warwick neck. Ah the good old days. And a few years before that they were even better (one of mine, that I paid the most for, is a 98 with the slimmer profile neck).

Um, so anyone who wears Harley gear on their Harley is trying to brag or something? I wear Harley stuff when I am riding my Harley, which is almost every day. And most of my riding gear is Harley, but because it's quality, and usually no more expensive than other "non-Harley" crap. So please illuminate me, what should I wear instead? Should I throw on a Kawasaki jacket to avoid overloading someone's brand sensitivities?

Imo, your "Ugh" is better spent on posers who wear Harley gear, but don't even own one!!!

But I like the Fender logo on my amps/cabs too. I guess I'm just a hopeless fanboy. :D

Lol, why so serious?

Badges on your equipment is just like badges on your motorcycle...no big deal. This all started with a bit of a misrepresentation of something I said. Throwing out the Harley gear comment was a bit of a troll move. Having said that, I love Fender, but I wouldn't wear a fender shirt while playing one on stage. I also never wore Harley or Yamaha labels when I owned either....for somewhat the same reason I wouldn't wear my own band's shirt on stage.

And Harley gear is fine, but it's usually just another brand which has had the Harley imagery added to it, as well as an upcharge.
