I thought I'd start here, although this may belong elsewhere, and if so, please let me know. I mean technically, I should join, but I'd prefer to do it with something a little nicer than a Rumble 25. This will do it for sure.
A little pre-qualification info...
Our cover band plays a mix of Blues, Rock, Country, and I even play some bluegrass, but typically play upright for that. I play a mix of 4 and 5 string basses and would like as good a B as possible.
The current MarkBass isn't cutting it in one of our venues against 3 guitar players, a keyboard, and drums. In playing a number of different amps/cabs/combos, I decided I really liked the tone of the Rumble series. I was playing through a Rumble 500 I think. Pretty sure... whatever it was... sounded great. In asking my favorite dude, he said that this is a pretty typical Rumble tone. So, I am thinking that I want a Bassman 800 head with some configuration of cabs.
What would you pick?
2 Rumble 410
1 Rumble 410 and 1 Rumble 115
2 Rumble 112
2 Rumble 115
Some other config I haven't thought of as yet
I am not ruling out 610 or 810 cabs, but they seem like they would require a small team of roadies to haul/move.
Also, does anyone feel the pro series is worth essentially twice as much?
Are Neo speakers the only advantage?
I plan to begin reading the 845 pages, but hope the Rumble fans here can provide some input. I am hoping to pull the trigger Monday if possible.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
