Fender Rumble Club

Poor health. Selling off nearly everything except the essentials.
Bummer.

Keeping the 200 at least I hope? Enjoyment is a good prescription. And I know the 200 took the sting of the theft of my big rig away a bit. It will make the parting of your 350 rig less painful for sure.

I found if you dime the gain on the 200, and of course dime the overdrive, together it can give a pretty heavy distortion, which I believe was what you liked about the v2 overdrive. Of course you still don't have the blend option, but the sound is not lacking a solid low end. I was doing that initially with one band that needed a distortion on some songs, but now I am back to using the overdrive as a mild grit, and a boss ODB-3 for the heavy distortion/blend tone, I found I needed all 3 sounds, clean, grit, blended distortion, for this band.

Surely you still have a dirt box or 3. If not, those odb-3 are pretty dirt cheap used.

Happy Fender Friday! :bassist:

Right now, I think so. My Rumble 75 is modified and punked out so it won't fetch much and would be a local sale only.

I play clean 99% of the time, and preferred the V2 overdrive for subtle grind. I have a ZOOM B3 for whatever effects I might need which are few.

Have you gotten an overdrive out of the v3 that you are happy with yet?

I probably won't bring my 200 into practice today because it is going to be pouring. The yorkville yb400 and 410 that is already there will suffice. And my other band has a b115, and it is probably going to be raining Tuesday so I might just plug into that too.

The rain that is coming in today is going to be the worst this season, gonna get 6 inches and 3 of which are going to be in a 3hr window. Hopefully the worst is over before I have to leave, since when I am gone, nobody is here to man the bilge pump (the auto float switch is dead). Hopefully the flooding does not block me from getting home after practice to pump out the bilge. The freeways got closed due to flooding last time. But big gig on Saturday, and not going to miss practice.

How much louder would it be for me to add an extension cab to my Rumble 500 combo? I have a bunch of gigs this summer and I want to make sure I will be loud enough.

Any louder than the 500 combo + 210 cab and you really ought to be running through the front of house PA anyway. No scientific measurements aside from the fact that you're doubling as speaker. So you are doubling the amount of air you're moving.

3-5dB which is a very nice boost (10dB is twice as loud). The BIG thing is you'll be moving twice as much air and have much more even dispersion across the sound stage and into the audience. Another big + is the dramatic increase in the low end and low mid punch with the cabinet coupling effect of stacked identical cabinets. Do not underestimate its positive effect across the entire midrange too. Highs you already have by the bucket full, so now you'll have two buckets of high end.

Even at the lowest possible volume levels the doubling of the 10s really does bring the Lows and midranges to life. Not that the 500 combo is any slouch, the only way I can explain it is it's like the 500 combo all over again. You go from 350 watts output to 500 watts output and double the speaker surface.
