Fender Rumble Club

Same rig I have. Prepare to be amazed. Play it for a few minutes with out the cab, and then hook it up and compare.

I also support Sweetwater over Guitar Center every time. I made an offer on a Rumble 40 last week and the kid at Guitar Center in Springfield, Missouri obviously had no authority to make such a decision and wasn't prepared to help. I didn't need it anyway. They lost two Rumble sales between us.
Thanks, good suggestion. I will try it without first so I can be properly amazed:bassist:

As for GC, the main thing about them is that they stock a lot more equipment than any locally owned shop in town. There are two GC's in Jacksonville, and between the two you can find a fair amount of stuff to demo. So most everybody goes there to figure out what they like, then goes home and gets on the internet to actually shop for what they want.

Basically, you just described the reason why GC and every brick and mortar store is struggling.

Here's video of the closing piece of the concert I did yesterday with the Rumble at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard is singing vocals along with the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club. In that environment I didn't have my bass coming through the house or DI at all, just the Rumble and I had the volume low because of how well the sound carries in that room, and playing with a full orchestra, drums, choir, soloist, etc.

Fantastic! Thank you.

My local store threw that pedal in for free when I bought my 500C from them--plus the internet price for the Rumble.
Update on my EHX pedal burn-out: I bought a new one and a couple of more pedals to complete my rig. I ran the specs on the power supply I inadvertently plugged in that burned out my pedal;;;WELL--it matches EHX specs.
I will send it to them showing what I did. Perhaps they will warranty it. It should not have failed.

More on footswitches:
The "BOSS FS-5L Latching" footswitch is the one that works with my Rumble 500.
High quality, sturdy, red LED and only ca. $30.00.

The MSRP is $600. What's "the internet price" and how did you find it ?

Good question.... at the time I bought mine the going internet price was $549 with free shipping and no tax. It was that price everywhere. Our local shop is well aware of internet prices and offered me that price out the door. So, they sold it for $514 plus 7% tax and threw in the pedal. It was good business because I regular go back to buy stuff from them.

I just bought an pedal on Reverb because they could not match the price--the pedal went bad--needed one in a pinch and I went to the local store and was willing to pay full retail. However, I told them the truth about the bad pedal and they cut the price 10%. It was more than I payed on Reverb but it was VERY reasonable. So, I always check with them first.

The fact that they had the EHX Pitchfork in stock was amazing.

Another instance where the horn makes a huge difference is if you are running an mp3 player through the aux input in order to jam along with it. Even at very low practice volume, the mp3 music sounds bad with the horn switch off and sounds pretty good with the horn on. I am very glad the horn is there when I am practicing with music through the aux.
Good to know! Thanks!

I haven't followed this thread in a long time, sorry 'bout that, and I don't have time to read it all I'm afraid, so I will just ask the question that has maybe been asked before...

I am looking into a small combo to take with me on a trip, the Rumble 500 stays home. I will be doing most of my practice throug headphones, but would like to also be able to practice without HP at low volumes, maybe even a low volume jam.

I know there are many small combo options out there that are all more or less similar, but I was wondering if the Rumble 15 sounds anything like the 500, mainly through headphones?

If the combo could give me a similar flavour to my larger rig, that would be great.

No! :roflmao: Not even close!

The Rumble 40 could give you what you want for an acoustic jam. Has the same front end as your Rumble 500 and would sound the same through headphones. Nothing less will do.
