Fender Rumble Club

Hi folks.
I've been offered what seems a pretty great deal on a Rumble 500 (V3) combo plus matching 210 cab...OR a Rumble 500 head with a 115 cab.
I've tried out the combo already and really like everything about it - the only thing I can't see using is the overdrive as I don't care for it on bass.
Curious which you'd suggest.
Just pick the one that sounds best to you. You can't go wrong.

500 combo + 210 cab – You’ll be able to run the amp at its full wattage, and you can use just the combo if you don’t need to have a lot of volume. I’ve used this set up for 2 years now and I love it. I use just the combo at home, bringing in the 210 when I need volume at a gig that isn’t FOH supported. And, the 210 cab pairs nicely with the combo’s 2x10 speakers.

500 head + 115 cab – This is basically like having just the 500 combo, but using a single 15” speaker rather than two 10” speakers. You can add another 8ohm cabinet later if you need it, but going with this option means that if you’ll have to get another cabinet later if you need more volume.

Which one is better for you is up to you and your circumstances.

I'm leaning towards the combo plus 210.
The only thing I can see against that is ease of access to the controls.
With the head + cab they'd be easier to get at, seems to me.

Access to the controls is not an issue. Mine comes up to about my sternum (I'm 6'2" FWIW) and seeing over it and being able to get to the controls isn't a problem. For versatility, tone, and SPL 4-10's @ 500 watts is all anyone ever needs. Probably more than anyone needs.

Well at 5'8" and with some difficulty raising my arms comfortably due to back problems, it's something I need to consider.
I am thinking a set-up with a cab each side of the drummer might work well - spreading the sound a bit.
The danger there of course is the guitarist using my cab as a beer-table...

Interesting....seems that more people lean towards the 500C + 210 over the 500C + 115.

I thought it was the other way around from my past readings of this thread. But, lately--I see a lot in favor of the 210 cab.

We should do a poll...can a poll be done inside a thread? I am really interested in the results....
That's because the Rumble 210 wasn't available the first year of production (2014). So you saw a lot of Rumble 500 combos on top of Rumble 115 cabinets. Some even went to Rumble 410's. Once the Rumble 210 and 112 cabinets were introduced the following year, things changed. F.M.I.C. wasn't quite prepared for what HUGE hits Fender's Champion line and the new V3 Rumbles would be. In fact they would go on to become the world's best selling guitar and bass amplifiers. Also Fender's new Indonesia plant just didn't have the production capacity to keep up with initial demand. Rumble 410 production was shifted to Ensenada, Mexico. Rumble 210 & 112 would be manufactured under contract by Eminence China.

I use the 500c + 2x10. The amps are the same, but I prefer the 4x10. It is very punchy.
