Fender Rumble Club

The answer is the rumble 200, no speaker upgrade necessary
^^^So True!^^^ The stock Eminence 15 in the Rumble 200 combo and also the Rumble 115 cabinet (identical driver) is so very good I'd never even consider replacing them with some other driver. no matter how much more expensive it might be. This is a perfect example of where more expensive isn't better.

I have almost gone head-to-head with the Fender Bassman Pro 115 Neo. I auditioned one with a Fender Bassman 500 head, and had just prior been playing through a Fender Rumble 200 combo just a few feet away in the same store. Same lefty Fender Jazz (mine). Let me tell you it was damn close. Except the price: $1,450 vs $450.

I still miss my PAS 15 with the swr logo dome in the original son of bertha that got stolen. Had I not been planning to try it with the rumble 200 for the ultimate 2x15 rig, it would have still been safe in storage when I got my van broken into.

That thing was pretty efficient too, several times I had it moving well with only 50w (as extension to my also ripped off workingman's 10). It would have kicked butt under the rumble 200.

But it would not have fit in the back of the car with the 200 the same way my 112 does. I am happy with my rig.

Doesn't mean I still don't miss this one though.

One of the most important posts (to me anyway) lately needs a bump. IIRC, you also padded the guts. I'm waffling between the Basslite and the highly recommended DeltaLite. I want to be able to run the 40 well past the half volume point without undesirable clipping. Have you been able to crank that puppy with the Basslite installed?

Yes, I did pad the guts. : ) I haven't been able to crank it up yet - just breaking it in slowly, and it's in my house, so not much of a chance yet. Part of my buying this was for practice, and size - so it fits my practice area perfect.

I wasn't able to find it locally - not much bass around here even in the music stores - but Amazon carries it, and free shipping. Price was the same everywhere I looked online - MF, Zzounds, GC etc.

So far - sounds great!!

I just returned my Markbass Little Mark III head because it came new with very scratchy pots and distortion when the treble is turned up. The pots are sealed and couldn't be serviced easy by GC staff.

So! I returned it w/in the 45-day period, and ordered a Rumble V3 500 head. :-) I've got the 112 cabinet and am probably going to order the 210 soon to compare the sound.

If I can get these tones I will be seriously happy.

Good deal. IF the Volume control on your head " scratches" a bit don't let that turn you off.

Mine does it, and a few others have said the same. I just roll my volume control back and forth a few times before I power the amp up and then it doesn't do it. I just consider it an artifact of sorts.

Deoxit will work if you want to get inside it.

Congrats on the incoming :bassist:

Welcome Rumbler #764. Prepare to be seriously happy. Rumble on!

Rumbler #131 getting back in with a Rumble 500 head, and either a Rumble 115, or 410. Have you all been doing with either cab?

I have a 500 combo and recently got the 410 cab. I got that instead of the 210 cab because I could get 2 more speakers for only $100 more. Plus I have a rack mount rig I wanted a 410 for so I could have more options.

That said, the 500c and the 410 sound great together at low and high volumes to me. The 500c sounds pretty good by itself, but it is just so much more full with the cab. The only issue I have with the 500c + 410 cab is aesthetic. The widths are off if you stack them. You can make the widths work if you put the 500c on its side but then the logos don't match. I'm considering making a custom grill for them (when I get free time). I've not tried the 115.

EDIT: Oops, I thought you got the 500 combo then I re-read the post and saw it was the head. I'll second the idea of getting two 210s in order to get the full 500 watts. But either way, with w Rumble head pushing 4 10 inch spearkers, you've gotta have a great sound regardless of setup.

The only problem with your rig is the mismatch in power the speakers will see. Since both cabs are 8 Ω, they will each receive 50% of the power or 250 watts. You combo has 2 speakers, so each of them will see 25% of the total power or 125 watts. You 4x10 can is still only getting 50%, so each of the speakers there are getting 12.5 Ω or 62.5 watts.
All that really means is your combo will sound louder than the 4x10.

Yes, Good point...But... It does still sound great. It gives me 2 advantages in addition to sounding full and great. 1.) The 410 works great with my rack rig (which is how it is usually employed) and 2.) I have a perfect technical excuse to justify a 210 cab later on.

I wonder how the overall volume would compare between a 500C+500 setup (500W going into 4 speakers) and a 500C+410 setup pushing 500W into 6 speakers so more surface area (although 4 speakers get a bit less power than the other 2).
