Rumbler #131 getting back in with a Rumble 500 head, and either a Rumble 115, or 410. Have you all been doing with either cab?

I have both the 500c that I use for my blues band and the 500 head +2*115 rumble v3 cabs for my rock band. I have gigged with both setups, and also combined them in various ways, they all sound awesome.
But if I would have to choose only one, I'd go for the 115. You can always add another 115 later and get the full 500w rock rig.

The 210 is a better design than the 410. The 410 is a standard box 410, where the 210 is a staggered design with more cab volume per driver. 2 of those would destroy the 410, but would cost more.

Vertical staggered 210s would have much better mid dispersion and gets the top speakers closer to your ears.

410 cabs are still pretty cool though, the lows get everywhere, but the mids kinda laser beam out the front.

The talk about the combo being louder than the 410 when stacked is not entirely accurate. Half the wattage per driver equates to a 3db less output per driver, but having 2x the amount of drivers, that kind of evens out.

I ran 8ohm 410+210 rigs all the time, and it always worked fine, but it is true that the 210 is getting more of a workout. But the sound coming out of the rig was pretty balanced.

just making sure.......

if i have a rumble 500w head and use a rumble 115 a cab. what would happen? it's 600 watts (program), 300 watts (continuous)...which i've read explanations about....but i'm still confused lol. sorry if i'm repeating questions asked over and over and over

It would rumble.

What you are wondering is if it is safe to use a 350w amp with a 300w cab. Yes it is safe. 600w program means 600w transient peaks will not destroy the speaker. If the speaker farts or struggles, or you smell the magic smell, turn down. Fender does not publish the peak power of the amps, but there are many 500/115 users out there with no problems.

Sweetwater's GearFest is just a month away. I have always wanted to go. Dweezil Zappa will be there sponsored by D'Addario. Plus Give Aways and crazy deals to be had. Just need to rent a big Ford Transit van, fill it with $$$, and drive to Fort Wayne, Indiana. Take the $$$ out and then fill with beautiful new equipment. Drive home happy! :D
Just get the van, you've got the GAS!!!!! ;-)

I went to it once when I just happened to be there for work. It's pretty awesome. PM me for dining/drinking recommendations if you end up doing Ft Wayne. :)

Been following this forum for a couple of years now. Based on all the positive reviews here I decided to go for a Rumble V3 500C and after a short test in the local shop I brought it home. I was down sizing at that time, so this small combo replaced my Ampeg SVT + 4*10 HLF cab and I must say it did it with ease, superb sound and more than enough volume for our traditional blues and rock covers band.
All my different basses sound good through it, and it really brings out their specific character. I play everything from Gibson EB0 and a Hofner violin to a Rickenbacker, Fender P to Gibson Thundebird, they all sound fantastic through this little combo.
I used the combo alone for about half a year, also for gigging, never any problems with the sound or to get heard. Most of the gigs were without any PA support.
After half a year I bought the 115 extension cab and wow, what a sound!!! I was in bass heaven. Did not need it for the volume but..., it just felt soooo good.
Last summer I started another band, rehearsing in another place than the blues band, so I figured I need another amp for this rock band, not to have to haul around the gear all the time. I knew I would get another Rumble but which one, that was the question. After many sleepless nights I decided to buy the Rumble V3 head and use it with the 115 cab I had bought earlier, going back to use the combo alone with the blues band. This was all fine but after one week I just had to get another 115 and now, wow!!! Linnin and all you guys who speak warmly about this setup, I can just say you are righ. 2*15 rules just rocks!!
So now I'm rumbling blues and rock standards with my vintage Gibsons and Hofner through the 500 combo and rocking originals with my Rickenbacker and Thunderbird through the 500 head + 2*115. Pics of this rig attached.
I think I now deserve a number ;)
