Fender Rumble DI Question

Thanks! So far I haven’t found an amp sim in GB that I like. The clean DI is the one I like the most, but I’ll probably give them another try at some point.

For the active DI…you’re talking about a straight DI box, not a preamp pedal, right? If a straight DI box, what purpose does it serve in this case?

Optimal signal to noise ratio, but if you want to do your tone shaping before the computer and garageband and you like the Fender amp sound, consider the Fender Downtown Express pedal.

Personally, I like the unaltered sound of my basses with maybe just a touch of compression.

So if the DI out of a Fender Rumble or most amps is line level (I think, correct me if wrong. I see some nicer amps with a switch for both line and mic level output), and nearly all audio interfaces say only connect mic level inputs into the XLR input on the interface and use a TRS 1/4inch cable input for line level, when using the DI out of a Rumble (or most amps with line level out at the DI) for recording into an interface a TRS 1/4inch should be used to connect to the interface? I've asked this before and nobody answers. But this is what everything on the internet and in the literature for my Motu interface says.
That's what I've been doing, with XLR out from the Rumble to TRS 1/4inch cable into the interface. I have an XLR to TRS cable, I also have an XLR to XLR cable.
But I think most people use the XLR out from the amp to an XLR into the interface.
Which should I use?
Any clarity on this would be appreciated.

You should probably go with whatever the documentation for your interface says. My interface (Presonus Audiobox Go) takes mic & line levels via XLR. Also, as far as I know you’re correct - amp di’s send a line level signal.
