Hi! I'm thinking in buying a Fender Rumble 200 (maybe the 500w model) but there is almost no stock with very long ETA for most of the Rumble models (even the Bassman heads) in many stores around the globe. Is Fender planning an update of the bass amp line? Does anyone know something about this?
Hi, Danny! Welcome to TalkBass.
Here's the Fender CEO discussing stock shortages. But, Fender has a history of keeping their new developments very hidden until their public release, often with several other items.
They have just recently released some new guitars & basses, but no new bass amps.
The current Rumble V3 models have been taking the world by storm for the last 8 years, way before the lockdowns kicked musical instrument demand way up! And I haven't even read that rival Ampeg's newest 2021 Rocket Bass amps, which largely copy the Rumble V3s (except slightly costlier, bulkier & heavier), have given Fender any reason to change things!
Of course it's always disheartening to buy the latest & greatest only to see an even later & (maybe seemingly) greater appear soon after. But, luckily, that kind of thing doesn't really lessen such truly valuable gear as the Rumbles. Why, even Rumble V1s and V2s are still going strong! If you're not sure how much Rumble you need, here's a
feature Summary Info Chart to help you. Maybe a little Rumble 15, 25, 40 or 100 can help you muddle thru 'til the big guns become more available.
The Fender Rumble Club here might be a good place to ask more Rumbling questions. The Rumblers there are very helpful.
