Fender Standard Precision vs Warwick Corvette

I wonder if it s something in your case that is breaking your volume knob/pot. I've never had one break. That's strange.

Totally inaccurate. MIM basses are not plywood, and spray finish is applied to some of the very highest quality products.I don't see how anyone could choose a spray painted piece of plywood with strings like a Mexican P-bass over ANY Warwick. The quality difference here is unbelieveable...
It's a preference issue. I've heard Warwicks (don't like them), and handled them (excellent quality), and won't own one (yes, can afford it).
If your volume pot has "broken" four times and your repairman has fixed it four times, either:
Sounds to me like your repairman A: doesn't know how to solder, or B: is ripping you off. Pots should not fail like this. The pots on all of my Fenders (which date back to the late 1960s) are still as good as the day they left the factory.
Something is wrong here, and it ain't the pots. But whatever the problem is, any competent repairman should've been able to fix it in one, possibly two attempts. Three or four tries means he's incompetent, regardless of what his reputation is.
* what does "broken" mean? Is it at full volume all the time? No volume? Crackles when you turn it? Broken is a pretty ambiguous word here.

Can hear the E and A strings, but not the D and G

OK....if you can hear half the strings (E & A), but not the other half, then the problem has nothing, I repeat, NOTHING (!!!!!!!!!) to do with the pot. You have a half working pickup that needs to be replaced. If you have already replaced the pickup and it keeps breaking, its because your repairman has no idea what he is doing. Trust me! There is nothing you can do to cause a pickup to fail 4X! Get it fixed byu someone else, and pay for it. It will be worth it in the long run.

It isnt the Pickup because evertime he fixes the pot, the bass works!!!!
The reason why i ask is because I like both, but i can onyl afford to get one because i have to save up to get my van in 3 months.
Oh, yeah and when it breaks, with the S1 switch in one position you cant hear anything and when it is in the other, u can only here the E and the A

If it was a MIA P-bass that would at least be a little different even though Warwicks are of way better quality IMO than even MIA Fenders. Then it would mostly be a tone/feel difference. But a MIM! Come on! They're an OK starter bass or a good bass if you want to mod it like crazy but stock...junk compared to a Warwick!
Then the pickup is likely intermittent, and every time he opens it up to work on it something (likely the wiring) moves enough to restore continuity and you have a functioning pickup again. It's not the pot. Unless the tech is smoking too much of it.....
As for your original Q: Corvette.
Simple solution, DbNBassist take it to another repair shop. Really.
The repair shouldn't be expensive, and a good luthier will tell you how much it will cost before fixing it.
Free or not, don't forget that your time is worth something. Then when you factor in your trips to the store, maybe gas or bus money, time without your bass...

thats a ridicuoulus question, get a warrick for a backup!?!?!?! of course you realize that they cost over 2,000 and are considered one of the most highest quality of basses and ur asking weather you sould get that or a standerd p bass, thats just stupid, they dont even compare
The problem is either with the pickup or pickup leads. If the pot has a push-pull switch the switch may be malfunctioning or miswired. Go find a good luthier who can solve the problem.
You would regret about buying a MIM once you get your MIA properly fixed, go buy a Warwick.
