Fender Stu Hamm Urge I - Help Please

Thank you. I could have bought the American Made one for what I have in this one.
With any luck, the issue will be fixed via a $5 mini switch and some of my time. The pickups are all good, so the most expensive version of the repair is off the table. Mini switches are notoriously failure prone, so I see it as a very minor repair (will update with final results once I finish the job).
Also - I negotiated down to $1700 and the bass is cosmetically 9/10. I'm feeling really good about the purchase actually.
You’ll never find one in this “pristine” condition for under 2K. Yes the electronics need some work but it’s over 30 years old and the electronics can easily be repaired. The exterior is nearly flawless which is extremely rare.
If you want one anywhere close to as good as this one you’ll need to open your wallet. If not you’ll be wanting one for quite a long time because the prices are going up, not down.
When I rebuilt the Mexican version I could have bought the American version for $1200. That $1200 bass is now 2K and up.

You have a gem there! $1700 is a steal for that bass. You have me wanting to do another Mexican conversion. Might just do that.
Think I payed 850 euro for my Urge 1 usa. But that was 10 years ago. Now they go for 1500-2200$ The Urge 2 is probably a bit cheaper.
That was also my thought, but why would you want the neck to tilt? Is that just a failsafe in case the screw up the neck pocket?
That allows you to adjust neck tilt slightly (and I mean slightly) but it’s very much a personal preference thing.
My JB+ 5 has the same thing - which is how I know; so does my Peavey Foundation. Try playing the bass without putting any pressure on it - it may be exactly how you want it already. My Fender is fine, I did put a bit of pressure on it with the Peavey but it does play a tiny bit better with it engaged.

So the idea is, what, you loosen the neck bolts and then tighten that screw? Sounds scary...
It is indeed the micro-tilt. Fender used it for awhile to help with adjustments since like 70% of Fender bolt on necks end up shimmed.

Interesting - well...she's going in for a Plek next week, and I hope they don't have to screw around with the micro-tilt!
I guess that’s why you have the extra hole in the backplate? How do you adjust the micro tilt?
The hole is exactly right. I believe you use an allen wrench but its been a hot second since I had one.
