I had my hernia in like 1966 or 67...
Was a little kid, and apparently they did a great job fixing it, have lifted countless v8 engine blocks, probably a hundred Hammond Organs, etc.
Now cartilage is another issue, got a video of inside my knee somewhere with some starwars laser working it over in there ; )
And yes, stereo is a "good thing"

I say blame it on the pianos, and will add that you must be a good natured person to have help moved those! I remember getting a flat tire on an old 68 Bonneville wagon I used to have, had a baby grand (mostly) in the back, and had to lift it up to get the spare tire that was stored underneath the piano, I cannot even tell you how I managed that, probably auto-blocked most of the memory of that event to protect my happiness.
I have never played out with these, not that there is anything wrong with doing that with them, but life has taken some turns and I have yet to have the chance. I would never use them if there were stairs involved!
I used to always use a Peavey Mark IV head with a kinda rare Marshall Silver Jubilee loaded with a single Celestion Sidewinder 15, but sold that to help fund the sb's, and have regretted it since. No regrets on the sb's, just in selling the Marshall, sounded great with no issues for the 25 years I had it, and was easy to move.
Two SB combos is pretty mythical stuff. Hope you get to gig them both one day. 360watt 215 all-tube rig. Toastie goodness!
I gigged last weekend with a backline. The guitarist sounded great through the supplied Fender (he’s a Mesa guy). When I praised the tone he smiled and said that he was still blown away by the time he plugged his Gibson into my SB/EVM 15 rig years ago at a sound check. How funny, I’d forgotten all about it, but he hadn’t..!

Is your EVM the original 15 from your sb?
No. They were purpose built TL606 cabs from a large sound and staging company back in the 80s. They would import the EVM 15 L or B drivers and build the cabs. Industry standard stuff back in the day.
Based on my experience, the original driver in the SB is actually an EVM 15F. These were made for Fender by EV. They’re essentially just an EVM15L but with a chrome dust cap.
My SB came as a ready made head conversion. I’ve never seen an original Combo. I’d like one though just for retro-chic ness.
I know you're in AUS, but SB combos are relatively easy to find here in the states. For example, at any given time, there are usually 2 or 3 f/s on Reverb.
of course, that does not help you much unless the sellers are willing to ship internationally (and as we know the SB is a pretty heavy sob).

If I ever came across a tidy, original SB Combo I’d be tempted...but I think the head conversion with a modern, lightweight Fender Pro Neo 115 would be my ultimate setup. It would be pretty easy to gig with and still look the part.
yes, but as you already know from your own TL606 cabs, there is something pretty sweet in those EV 15's for sure!
Wow! Managed to get two JBL K140 drivers at 16 Ohm each. Think they fit in the JBL BB240-like DIY cabinet with now two EVM 15L in it. If it works, I'll have a perfectly fitting 8 Ohm cabinet for my SB. Mmh...turning it into a head? But I like the Combo although.
Another idea: what about using a Fender Bassman 100 or 135 head - the width is 26 1/8", afaik?
Is this too wide, to put the SB chassis in? I thought of changing the chassis to have the SB as a head in the rehearsal room with the 2x15 Cabinet and than take the combo home with the Bassman chassis in it for playing there. Good idea? Or won't the Bassman chassis not fit into the combo and vice versa? It's 3,4 Millimeters difference… the head of a (old) Super Bassman would be perfect with also 26", but hard to find here in Germany. Bassman 100 or 135 are often seen on Ebay etc. for e.g. 600-700 €. Hmm..am I getting addicted?

not sure about the SB going into either of the Bassman head cases you mentioned. My SB is in a Mojotone aftermarket head case and fits perfectly.
I'm guessing that as long as the headcase is not smaller than the SB chassis, it will probably fit considering that the Fender amps are mounted "upside down" using those strap mounts on the top of the case. You should be able to place the mounts wherever you need them. Of course, you may end up with marks and screw holes from the original Bassman 100/135 chassis mounting.

I’d check out Mojotone headcases, or get a local amp guru to build you a headcase.
If you find a good Bassman 100, try that through your cabinet. They sound amazing into a good cabinet. I’ve used one through my EV TL606 cabs and it was gorgeous. Then just keep the SB combo as a separate rig.

Lucky me! Tried to sell my Fender Bassman 800 at Ebay, also mentioning the possibility of a change-around with a Fender Bassman 135 or 100. A nice guy from Hamburg contacted me, he wants to change his Super Twin (already in a headshell!!Good condition!!) for my Bassman 800. He is looking for a Head for an 8 Ohm Cabinet, and his second amp is - a Studio Bass still as a Combo!
So, at Friday we're going to change the amps. I'm very excited, but also confused - I than will have a Studio Bass Combo, a 215 Cabinet with 8 Ohm (2x15 JBL K140 at 16 Ohm) , the Super Twin as a head, a Fender BRX 115 Cabinet with a new (old) EV 15L Driver at 8 Ohm, and last but not least my vintage Ampeg SVT 810 with 4Ohms and Eminence Squarebacks in it. I think I'm overdosed. Don't know what to plug in where. Lot of sound-testing the next weeks, I think.
