Heading towards retirement, I'm finding ways to cut down on my monthly expenses. I've gotten rid of cable (and most streaming services), reduced the amount of red meat I buy at the grocery store, turned down the heat in my house and wear extra clothing, reduced electricity usage, etc., etc. Then I started looking at my hobbies (no, I don't fish 
). As someone who gigs quite a bit, I generally change my strings once every month on 2 basses. And while the strings I've been using aren't very expensive (Rotos), I thought that I'd try some lower priced alternatives. I picked up a couple packs of Fender Super 7250s and installed them on my P/J and J basses and was kind of surprised by how good they sound and feel. At this point, I think I've tried pretty much all the strings that most bass players use, but for some reason, I never tried Fenders. I've also noticed that they're not that easy to find. I don't know if this is because they're in high demand or if they're just so unpopular that the demand is very low so production is limited.
Anyhow, I hardly ever see them get any praise around here, so just curious if other players have used them for long. I was a long-time user of DRs, then switched to Rotos on most of my main basses. Why do I like these so much?

And the op was spot on. They do sound (and feel) similar to rotos!
