fender three bolt neck w/micro tilt issues..

hey im having problems with getting the action low enough....the neck is not shimmed (yet) its nice and straight ....the strings feel very tight and i cant get the G or D quite where i need them...and help or links are awesome or if you need more info... thanks

If you're having trouble with your D & G strings but are happy with your E and A, the obvious thoughts are you either have not set your bridge up right or you have a warped neck, neither of which is caused by the infamous Three Bolt Neck joint...

Since you have a 3 bolt, let me ask: I trust yours is a re-issue? If so, how's the neck pocket? I had a '76 (bought new) that had TERRIBLE problems with the neck shifting left and right - constantly going out of tune and just driving me crazy... I always assumed it was the 3 bolt neck's lack of stability, but I also saw that my pocket was rather wide (Sloppy late70's fender construction). If you neck pocket is snug, I would think that keeps it more stable...

Just curious.

the bridge is a badass that came stock and the d is ok but the g is dropped to the max... and the shim would be to tilt it the other way basically raise the whole neck up instead of only tilt the bottom of the neck higher...thanks

If the G is dropped as far as it will go and you want the action lower, that's where the mico-tilt comes in. Slacken the strings, loosen the neck mounting screws and tighten the mico-tilt adjuster a bit. Retighten the mounting screws, tune her up and adjust the bridge to suit.

Or am I not understanding your problem correctly?

yes you are ... thanks ill try again it just seemed to be angled back too far ...looking with the line of the body and pickguard...and was fretting out more. and the string were kinda tight ( thats y i was wondering if i raised the whole neck and then tilted it if it would help..).. but the neck it a bit straighter now... so ill try again thanks dont usualy have this much trouble...
