Iv been looking at the Deluxe P Bass Special, essentially a cross between the P and J basses. I love it because I like the look of the p bass but would rather the thinner neck and extra pickup. However, they seem a tiny bit pricy considering I can get a used p bass for about 1/3 of the price.
Just wondering what the real difference between the necks are, Im learning on something quite similar to the jazz bass and play the guitar mostly so I would have thought a thinner neck would suit. If the difference isnt that huge Im sure I can get over it.
Also I saw diagrams of the V, C and U shaoed necks. Just wondering which basses would have these necks. Just to give me a rough idea. I assume the Jazz would have a c shaped neck and the Precision would have a U shaped one?
