Fender Vintera Precision bass vs Fender Classic 50s - any hands on experience?

Hi all,

I am the new owner of a Fender Classic 50s P Bass in two tone sunburst. It's from 2018. I know the Vintera series have replaced the Classic 50s, I believe in 2018. And if the Vintera had come in sunburst, I probably would have bought one months ago.

So, just curious if any one has compared them side by side. If so, any thoughts? I know the specs are the same though pickups are different I believe. Other than the new colors and pickups, I can't really find any other differences between them.

Is this just a rebrand by Fender? Is the Vintera an upgrade? Just curious. Thanks for any info you could share.

Actually Vintera replace both roadworn and classic.

To me , absolutely rebranding..... except pickups , pickguard and paint(lacquer on classic blk body).

In-store play time on a Vintera, own a 50s Classic. Honey blonde finish. Love it.

Cool colors for the Vintera, but that's the only real difference (aside from spiked price). If the pickups are different, that's news to me, though I'm not a vintage-style pickup scholar or anything.

The 50s Classic is a fabulous bass and you lost absolutely nothing by getting one instead of a Vintera, esp if it had the finish you wanted.

Thanks for the insight. I thought I had read the pickups were different. Unless they just called them something different like vintage sounding.
