FENDER vs SPECTOR vs MUSIC MAN video!!!!

So I was thinking of selling my Kramer Spector to fund a nice P bass. I picked up a P at Guitar Center and did a little shoot out video. Wanted to share and see what everyone thinks.

Damn that Kramer Spector is BEAUTIFUL...thats what I think!
That P bass did have a nice tone though.

Whew v nice. That Musicman sizzle would cut through great but you probably could do with dialling in a bit more mid range and bottom. I presume you had the tone up full on the Precision?

Which did you like best?

Tone was 90% up on P. I like all three for different reasons thats why it's really tough. The spector sounds amazing for that modern sound. The P has that nice vintage mid punch and the sting has "that" sound.

Difficult choice then! I thought the Ray was probably capable of that modern sound, and also getting closer to the P sound. When you start moving plucking position you get more change dependent on how dynamic the bass is.

I would say the Spector and StingRay could vary considerably in sound and the P less so. Depends what you want to achieve really.

Sell that Spector and you will really regret it later dude. The Spector is way more versatile than the Fender or MM.

IMO, you can come pretty close to a P-bass or a Stingray sound with the Spector by adjusting the blend and tone controls on the HAZ preamp.

You are not going to get the Spector tone out of the other two.

The Precision sounds best in the vid imo by far. You could probably sell the Spector for three grand and buy 3 or 4 used American Standards.

If you want a P bass, get an SX for $169 and maybe upgrade the pickup and you're done. Best of both worlds!

Sell the Ray - the E and A sound amazing, especially with a pick, but the G sounds so weak.

Funnily enough it sounds perfectly ok in Mrevol's video. As balanced as the other basses.

I disagree, through my system the P bass tone has considerably more gravitas than the Stingray in the video. Perhaps an EQ adjustment might help the 'Ray out.

I like the Spector but the P-bass has a good tone as well.

P bass sounds better, I'd choose that one in the studio. It might fit your playing style better.

However, I'd play with the tone knobs on the Spector. It sounds like the treble knob needs to come down a lot.

Yeah you can definitely mimic the sound of that P bass with the Spector if you adjust the tone a bit. But, a P bass can never sound like a Spector.
