Fenderbird bass ???

bronco is a 32" scale neck if i remember right and the thunderbird is a 34" so with the bridge not being movable the bass will not intonate properly/at all so will0 be out of tune, seroiusly out of tune.

but the fender style neck and T bird body will work..... as will the pre built bach, probably cheaper than ebay parts too

He's a personal aquaintance and is much easier to deal with than going to BaCH directly, esp with regard to payment and shipping.
And you can make one as well, here's an Epiphone body with an MM lefty Jazz neck that I built. If you leave the stock pups you're in well under $500.00.

Sorry to revive such an old thread but does anyone know of any company that would make a custom thunderbird shaped body? Really getting the itch to try to put together a telebird bass but can’t find anyone to make the body...

If you just want to replace the neck and keep everything else on the body, your best bet is to buy an Epi T-bird for as little as possible and go from there (routing the neck pocket). They're easy to find for under $250-300 all day long.

There are a couple of drop in replacement pickups that will work with the existing routes, but there's not a lot out there to choose from. If you're opening up the neck pocket anyway for a Fender neck, you can expand the routes easily enough, just take your time.

I converted 2 Epiphones last year, the pelham and black one. They turned out pretty good, I gave the black one to a good friend of mine.
