I just found some fantastic strings for the Nomad. I put on a set of D'addario Tapewound (ETB92) stings and they are great!
I had to put Crazy Glue on the strings above the nut before I cut them to keep them from unraveling, but once cut to the correct length, the E string without the nylon is thin enough to fit into the tuner.
They're low tension, and they sound great even through the small speaker that's built into the bass. Much better than the stock "rebar" that was on the bass when I got it. I may have to get the neck adjusted a bit now that I've dropped from 65-125 to 50-105.
FYI: I was also able to cut back a set of GHS Boomers to fit. I tried cutting back a set of D'addario round wounds, but the centers were too brittle to bend around the tuner, and thy broke.
A lot of you guys have been going crazy over strings, although you can't buy them online, Fernandes still offers their round wound NOMAD strings for sale.
