Ferrule Replacement?

Swapping the vintage Fender tuners on my Jazz bass for some lightweight Schallers.

Is it pointless to swap the ferrules if the new tuners fit correctly in the existing ones and don't jiggle about?

If there is no more slop between the string post and the ferrule than with the Schallers, there is no need to change them.

Just installed the Schallers, no real movement from the string posts and everything seems secure. Job's a good 'un.
