There are many ways to pick an EPL team. I like LFC because the Red Sox ownership group bought them and since they have delivered 3 World Series titles in 10 years, they have earned my loyalty. Your reason is at least as good as mine.

Had this not been the case, I might have chosen the team that had the most Americans on the roster. In any case, I probably would have avoided Chelsea-Man U-Man City since those teams remind me of the NY Yankees.

Yes, the EPL would be like the NFL and MLS would be like Canadian Football. Still very fun and entertaining but the EPL is a whole step forward for sure. That being said, 95% of the soccer that I watch is the MLS because it's the home team. I do watch some EPL and MX but I don't have favorite teams in those leagues. I just enjoy the play.

Beasley's transformation was exciting for me to watch. He started his career as an attacking midfielder, and was one of our stars in our 2002 quarterfinal run. His career slowed down, and at one point was kicked off the national team. He redeveloped himself as a defender, and became a damn good one at that.

This was his fourth and likely final World Cup. Not many players can say they were a part of four World Cup squads.

The Crew would be a fine team to keep an eye on. As for the Prem, just watch, eventually you'll find a team you enjoy, if they weren't awful, I'd suggest Newcastle, so you could argue with your Sunderland connected mate.

Bet they'd manage to scrape by in bottom of the Premiership, I'd rate LA, NY, etc, higher than Norwich or Fulham..... Becks did lead a MLS All Star team to a victory over Chelsea, so it's not out of the bounds of possibility.

I'll have you know Man Utd are far more like a (vastly) more successful New England Patriots. :spit:

I can certainly see a resemblance between Sir Alex and Coach Hoodie; however, I wouldn't compare an EPL team to an NFL team due to the salary cap in the NFL. Let's see how long Man U and their ilk could stay on top if they couldn't write a check for any player they wanted (except those that Barca or Real don't want to sign).

At this point, baseball is the only sport with a wide disparity in payrolls which makes this year's performance of the Red Sox that much tougher to take - a top 5 salary structure buying a bottom 5 performance. :crying:

Perhaps you're right. Two years ago I did watch the Dynamo defeat Stoke in a friendly. That was a fun match - nice homecoming for Geoff Cameron, who was our captain before shipping off to England.
