Why do people come in the effects forum and brag about how they don't need effects? Not everybody plays the same type of music as you. The OP wants to use effects. Deal with it.

Sorry, but it's just stupid.

That's Nice.Power trio is my favorite line up by far. Never needed effects whatsoever. Quality musicians, good equipment, DYNAMICS, and feeding off each other (listening) is all I've ever needed. 3rd guy was always a guitar player though, never a sax only....although sax players I've played with never needed effects to sound great (if they had the goods).

For those of us who do not generally use effects, getting feedback from both sides helps. I don't think it was intended as bragging.
Not trying to troll. Trying to get/make honest feedback.
My post was not aimed at ALL people who don't use effects, just the ones that think they are special because they don't use effects. I don't use them live myself, it just irritates me when some people try to decide for everyone else how the bass should be played. Too bad some TBers can't be supportive of different approaches rather than try to stuff everyone into the same mold. For those of us who do not generally use effects, getting feedback from both sides helps. I don't think it was intended as bragging. Same way feedback on getting "effects" tones without a pedal should be a reasonable post. Where else do you suggest such threads be posted?

Quality musicians, good equipment, DYNAMICS... if that is not trolling from under a bridge, I am not sure what is...Power trio is my favorite line up by far. Never needed effects whatsoever.
